i really need to loose weight. i am 13 and 180lb. i have devoleped asthma and it is getting really bad. my friend starved herself and lost a whole bunch of weight. everyone really liked her and her new skinny self. she got in with the populars and i think if i can loose weight maybe ill get in the popular group

Don't starve yourself! But what you can do is figure out your BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate) or your daily intake of calories to maintain your weight. Then you can eat less than what you do, but not a WHOLE lot less. For instance, say your BMR is 1700 calories per day. You could try eating 1600 calories per day. And also work in healthy foods. I try something I call the trade in. So Maybe I go to some special breakfast, like at a hotel or something for a sport, I might see a donut and say "oooh that  look delicious". Then Ill decide if I want to trade it for desert that day and something sweet the next day.

Also drink water! Drink, drink and drink! Water is good for you and helps to lose weight as well.

So.............exercise. Walking, dancing, hiking, biking, playing catch, lifting weights. I do all of those. To me they don't really feel like working out. Except for lifting weight of course, but its a hugggggeee calorie burner! Anyway, I would most recommend walking and dancing. by yourself or with others. Either way "Just Do It"! You'll be surprised by how big of a difference these little things do. Youc an run if your ant of course. But personally, I hate it. I hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate HATE running. I do. Most people do. So if you do as well awesome sauce! If not, then good for you! Get out there and run! Run like Forest Gump. But the most important thing is to move!

Now this may seem cliche and blah-blah-blah, buutttttt....YOU'RE 13! You're young and you do have time. Some of that weight may be baby/puberty weight. Just keep your ahead and try not to compare yourself too much. I'm not gonna tell you not too because everybody does it. I do it. Even if it's just for a second, we compare ourselves. But try your hardest to be the best and most beautiful "you" you can be!:-D I don't feel popular either. I'm slightly overweight but working on it. I get A's and B's, but I don't feel smart. I'm insecure, but also friends with one of the most popular girls in school. She's got the boobs, the flat stomach, the butt, lots of guys talk to her, she's athletic and smart to boot. And even though all of that is true, she told me she hates her ears! And her nose. She doesn't think she's all that, but lots of other people do. So you needn't think that "populars" are perfect or well-liked just because of the way they look. Now I'm not gonna lie, some boys may say that. Especially middle school/ high school ones. But you can take the "prettiest" girl, and she can be a total B word. So just try to remember that nobody's perfect. I'm sure you're beautiful just the way you are (sorry to quote bruno mars haha).

Ummmmm what else.....oh heres some foods that are awesome, sweet/fat satisfying and low in calories:

Granola

Dried fruit ( and regular fruit of course, but some dried ones are sweeter. You do have to be careful about the sugar though)

Yogurt

Falafel (57 calories per 17 gram serving)

Whole Grain breads (easy on the bread though, its my favorite thing to eat but it puts on a lot of weight for me haha)

Penut Butter ( very high in protein, but also is pure fat, so don't eat a jar of it)

Oatmeal

Remember, everything needs to be done in moderation! Too much of ANYTHING is bad. So go ahead and eat that cake! But Have oatmeal for breakfast and walk for 30 minutes the next day! :) Good luck!

It wouldn't be a good idea to join a group to starve yourself. I don't find that group to being a popular group. You're a young teenager that needs helpful advice and strategies to go by. Whoever you are, you need to have an open conversation with your parents. If you can help it, try not to leave them out of what you are going through. If you aren't ready to approach them with your problem, then I suggest you go in your room alone and have that one-on-one talk with Jesus. Then read these scriptures twice (three times) a day: Psalms 23 and 121. Please realize and remember that God created all of us the way that he wanted us to be. If you feel overweight, have your mom make you an appointment to see your doctor. Stay prayed up, and be sure to take 20-minute walks a day, along with drinking plenty of water. P.S. Try eating a salad everyday or every other day. I hope my comment was helpful to you.

Whatever you do, DO NOT STARVE YOURSELF. I know that seems like a good option but sweetie it really isn't. It's ALL bad. You can get addicted to starving yourself and there is a very high risk of starving yourself to death. So PLEASE DON'T DO THAT. I've been down that road and it is NOT worth it nor a good thing to do. If you want to lose wait you should try exercising (aerobic) everyday and developing a healthier and more balanced diet. Drink more water as well because that helps to flush toxins out of your body. But most importantly, LOVE YOURSELF. It's important to love your body and your person no matter what our size or shape. Remember that and good luck! <3
