I really need to loose weight in under 3 months because I'm going to see all of my friends and family in 3 months and i want them to see the new me. I'm 13 and weighing at 174 pounds/79 kg. I'm really unhappy with my image. I want to be able to fit in a normal 13 year old size, I feel so out of place. No one comments on my weight but I know exactly what they are thinking. PLEASE HELP ME!! I would really appreciated it if you did.

I know exactly what you're going through, and the first thing I feel I should say to you is be patient with yourself & be HAPPY NOW! Hard to even think about when you're NOT happy with your body, but trust me, you need to find things to be happy about each day of your weight loss journey. Second, your friends and family are your FRIENDS & FAMILY and they love YOU whatever you look like. If you don't have any health problems preventing you from working out, begin by taking brisk walks, and if you have or can find a DVD to work out to, that would be great. Again, be patient with yourself, because each day you'll get stronger (I promise), and you'll be able to do the workout much easier). Drink LOTS of water - (8) 8 oz. glasses daily. Our organs survive only with water, so you have to feed them. And if you don't drink adequate water, your body will retain fluid. Caffeine will dehydrate you, so stay away from even sugar-free caffeinated drinks. Sugar is the worst thing we can eat. If you don't burn the sugar calories that you've eaten in a given day, then they turn to fat. Eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables and lean protein (chicken, fish, turkey, tofu). Again, BE PATIENT with yourself, because you WILL start seeing results. Eating right and exercising, there isn't any way you CAN'T see results, but it does take some time. There isn't a magic pill, and when you begin losing inches you will gain self-esteem; not only because you're liking what you see in the mirror, but also because you are proud of yourself for the work you're doing and for sticking to it. I'm right there with ya, going to see family and friends in about 6 weeks. I need to lose 30 lbs. I won't lose it all between now and then, but I just started losing some inches, and I'll keep it up until I reach my goal. After I reach my goal, I will continue working out to stay fit and healthy. Not everyone who is thin is healthy or "fit". Hang in there, and I'm praying for you!
