Hi, this part that you wrote really cause to my attention "I use a laptop computer for at least 3 hours each day on my lap. I have had this computer for only a few months and I am curious if the heat from my computer could cause any damage to my testicles that would cause this pain. My computer gets really hot also - i noticed some red, itchy patches on my thighs that look and feel like mild burns. Ive stoped puting it on my lap but my testicle pain is still present. "
In fact when im working with it now i have to put a pillow between because the mild pain has gotten worse, I also feel some mild pain in the lower part of my testicles. At fist I though that it was just a coincidence but as I keep on using the laptiop i notice that it was getting worse. Not just there but It also makes me feel some kind of numbness on my leg. I did not wanted to be paranoid but I think that there is something on this laptop that my body does not like and that is causing this problem that i did not had before. Please let me know if you went to the doctor and what he said. Im also looking online as much as I can to see if ther is other people suffering from this problem.

Hi
I have been having the same feelings although I have been using my laptop for longer than 3 hours at a time on lap. Got burning sensation in leg in one spot which eased with pillow, but lately for a avbout three weeks/month been geeting like butterfly, itchy , discomfortable feeling each time use lap top. Been to GP and said it could be posture but I am not sat at a desk upright not slouching and still getting it, (only when on the laptop though). I am concerned that it could be my bodies reaction to some kind of radiation emitted from wireless broadband. Will go back to GP and report anything.
Did you find anything online or anyone else with similar symptioms?

I've had the same problem, but it starts within about 20 minutes. I'm a woman, so it's not testicular pain, but my thighs, my "female lap" and even my lower abdomen now, begin to hurt. The "female lap" pain can last for a while after removing the computer - even if I wasn't using it for very long. It's very concerning to me. I've tried using a 3-inch binder between my lap and the computer - same thing. Boggles my mind. It's not that it's over-heating. I don't know what it is. If you found out anything that seems to make sense, let me know.
Same problem here. I suspect the warmth, pressure, and electrical currents (I feel little shocks while using my laptop on my lap). When I first got the computer, I worked on it in my lap. I started mid-month menstrual bleeding. I put the laptop on a desk for a year. Recently I began working with the laptop on my lap again, and am experiencing mid-month menstrual bleeding again.
I too have problems with my hp laptop hurting my thighs when on my lap. It is not a heat sensation but a very annoying prickling, stinging sensation. It gets to the point when I think about using my laptop my legs start to hurt in protest! My hands and wrists do not have the same symptoms. I think it has to be some type of electric magnetic thing happening because if I put a pillow between me and the computer, then it alleviates the symptoms. But this is not a good thing for my computer because it gets too warm. So, my laptop is a tabletop. I can't tolerate electric blankets either. It gives me the same sensation.

I have the same problems I did talk to both of my doctors in they looke dat me like I was crazy don't know what I'm talking about they say! Everybody say it's just me I'm glad I found other people that's going through this problem maybe someone could help us all! I hope so I just purchase this laptop in I don't enjoy it so much cause I have this tingling burning sensation feeling that want go away WHY? Even my Blackberry cell phone bothering my head i don't know what to do I guess I just wasted my money I can't return these items either! Any help for these problems I'm having!
Heat rash?
I am kinda glad to have found others with the same issues. Why will no medical person help us out? My left thigh gets sore, as if it was burnt on the inside. Even if I put the laptop on books, and a tray. I've been really concerned but my doctor didn't understand my concern and just thought it was a muscle problem. But I know it's not. Hoping it's not some kind of tumor.
I am so glad to find others talking about this problem. My company requires us to use a laptop and a program that provides us with leads. I'm using it for hours every day. Sometimes I sit in bed with the laptop on my lower stomach to make phone calls from the lead information.
Within minutes my ovaries start to ache and burn then the pain increases until I have to remove the laptop. I've tried putting it up on a platform, and putting binders on top of me, but it doesnt help. Even just sitting close to it is affecting my lower abdomen. I'm 57 years old, so I'm not worried about having children, but how many young girls could be injuring themselves with a laptop computer. There must be studies out there about this problem. Please let us know what you know and give us some links.

Hi everybody,
I've been having the same problem. I've been using my hp laptop for about a year now. Whenever i use the laptop on my lap my thighs begin to hurt immediately- intense deep muscle pain. I'm a student/ professional so my lap top is in use more or less everday, and because I'm studying it gets a lot of use on my lap at home. Months ago I used to be able to go about 30mins before I experienced any pain, now its immediate.
I decided to search the internet to look for any research into this, news articles etc, and came across this site. the main reason for searching now is because I can't even hold my lap top now when its on as I get shooting pain in my hands. I can also feel the heat radiating out from the computor, especially at the sides with the air vents. It's very worrying, cancer runs in my family, and I've read articles around wifi, including the leg pain associated with the lap top use.
I'm sure computer companies and health organisations are aware of this, but it would'nt do them any good financially or politically to do anything about it...
So I'm off to buy a folding table, and hope to minimise the effects of this, because in the meantime, I have to work, and my particular type of work means using a laptop.

Well for what it's worth I'll add my case (female) to the list of those who experienced discomfort in lower abdomen when using the laptop on the lap, so I am having to use it on a table instead. So I decided to look on line, and found this! It's really worrying! I think firstly it is partly related to heat, then electro manetic waves. Also I listened to this program about electromanetic waves and it said that in this day and ages of electronics surrouning us, it is essential to ground ourselves, ie stand walk barefoot on grass or sand daily to clear our body of the accumulation it all causes. Things are made worth by people wearing rubber soles and being insulated from the earth. My husband just was operated of bowel cancer, so I am going to be extra careful now!
Hi all,
I have extreme muscle weakness in my thigh muscles. I don't know where it has been coming from. I have another chronic illness that keeps me in bed most of the time that has nothing to do with weak thigh muscles. While I am in bed, I need something to do, so almost all of the time, I have my laptop on my lap...but pretty much on my thighs, not on my stomach. A couple of days ago, I had some energy work done on my body (I apologize for those of you who don't know what that is or who don't believe in it), and my thigh muscles are completely back to normal. I will never put my laptop on my thighs again, especially after ready this forum thread.

Sorry... reading this forum thread, not ready.
redOh wow, like a ton of bricks just hit me,ok my story. I have been back and forth for 6 months now with surgeries and such. I was crushed by a piece of steel pipe at work. I had plates and screws removed a couple of weeks back . The screw in the left side of my pelvis, had growed over so the doc left it in. Then I developed this pain in my upper left leg as you guys are describing. I thought nerve damage, or IT band tightness ,because I was off of my feet, and limited motion . Now that I have read this forum I realize, that I also have had a hot as hell lap top on my lap more than I should have the last couple of weeks. Acutually I just came home from rehab, and he told me that my IT band was not tight, he was scratching his head on what was causing the upper leg pain. I wonder how long this condition lasts, if it is heat and electromagnetically(wifi or anyother types of radiation) induced? I will make my self heard if it gets better without the laptop on my lap. Good ol google may have saved me, thanks everyone for sharing your stories.
I am using a new mac laptop on my lap and have this tingling sensation in my left thigh. I also have wifi on when I am doing this. I was wondering if anyone has tried to see if turning off the wifi and connecting directly with a cable made a difference. My wife has the same feeling when she uses the laptop even with a thick book underneath. Maybe I need a lead shield or something like that.
If I was in high school this might be an interesting science fair project... I don't want cooked nuts.
