on my right leg which wasn't near the hard drive which is the hottest area. This red spot or mole turn out to be precancerous.
I havn't laid in the sun for years now and ever since I got this notebook pc, I get this bump. For 4 months I used pc on lap or stomach and then decided to get a lap fan but soon after that a year later, I get a bump. I felt pricks with the fan and b4 with just the pc. So I'm sure pc caused my problem and I had spasms also in upper back legs for several months. I put the pc on lap fan then on another hard surface b4 putting on my bed or table. I no longer have spasms but need the bump cut out since freezing it off didn't work.
I have a similar experience: my MacBook Air causes a slight pain in my left testicle after having used it for 10-15 minutes, especially if I have it in my lap.
To make this thread more focused, we should exclude all problems that are due to the heat. My laptop doesn't get war, yet I feel the pain. It's something else.
Then, those posting should state what laptop computer they are using and in what position.
I am very sensitive to electromagnetic radiation. I can physically feel the Wifi signal coming from my laptop and my Android smart phone. I can usually feel the outlets and other electronic devices nearby, but the Wifi signal is really strong. It sometimes overstimulates my intestines, and I have to go to the bathroom right away. I have tried many different arrangements, such as putting the computer on a desktop, and using boards and racks to raise the computer off my lap, but it still messes with my body, though not as aggressively as it does when the computer is directly on my lap.
I believe what is happening is that the radiation is inducing a small current in my tissues, and the tingling, vibratory sensations, and organ responces are my body's way of expelling that excess electrical charge. I don't think there is any effective way to shield yourself short of building a faraday cage around your electronics, making them pretty much useless.
The long-term health effects are probably not good, and it wouldn't shock me to learn that such exposure could lead to cancerous growths. I'm not about to stop using my laptop, though.
Someone really needs to do an extensive investigation.
Same here. Strange pain on thighs were the laptop rests... and its not overheating. Geez. I hope it does not cause permanent damage! I'l try with a pillo wnad see.
I posted to this topic three months ago and want to give an update. My symptoms got worse. Even though I always used my MacBook Air at a desk and not in my lap, my thighs above my knees would get HOT and HURT. And my face would get really droopy and stressed looking-- like I had the flu. I was tired all the time. I felt terrible. My feet thumped the floor when I got up in the morning. (My feet thumping the floor was the first symptom I had.) Understand that my MacBook Air did NOT get hot. Neither did the the desk or the air underneath the desk. I was literally being cooked like a chicken in a microwave. Have you ever noticed that the air inside a microwave doesn't get hot? Evidently, the EMF emitting from my MacBook Air has detrimental effects on flesh and blood and bones.
So, hoping that I was merely unfortunate and was handed a bad MacBook Air when I made my purchase at the Apple store, I decided to purchase a used MacBook Pro-- same problem although the symptoms aren't as severe. Even my iPhone makes my thighs hurt.
I had a benign tumor taken out of my leg above my left knee when I was 8 and again when I was 26 because it grew back. I'm 43 now and lately I've noticed sharp pains in that area. I am greatly concerned; I don't know if the EMF could cause any remaining tumor cells to turn to cancer. Evidently, when a benign tumor is removed, there's no guarantee that all of the tumor cells are removed as it grew back in my leg after 16 years. (I was 24 when I noticed that the tumor grew back. And it was probably growing back long before I noticed.)
I tried an EMF shield and got some relief but not enough to relieve the discomfort.
EMF is NO JOKE. Get a desktop computer and avoid wireless anything as much as possible. You can live without it.
Remember, Steve Jobs died of CANCER.
I am 19 years old and I am so glad i found this site! I have been dealing with abdomen pain for about a week and half now it is constant it comes and goes, but gets worse when I use my laptop. My dad just told me tonight when I was my laptop that my stomach pain could be coming from my laptop and after reading all of these posts about others having the same issues i am having i think he is right! I cannot not use my laptop for a few days because i take online school classes, but i will keep it on a counter or desktop from now on when i use it and see it my stomach/abdomen pain subsides. Thanks for posting this everyone! :)
