This is a normal thing, your ass is bleeding cause your either pushing to hard and are not realizing that your ass is extending to far, especially if your poop is hard, but it also could be colon problems, or hemorrhoids. To be completely sure, visit your doctor. It may be embarrassing but unless your really confident that its not anything serious, which I doubt. I recommend that you see your doctor.

Well I have had a bleeding ass since years now.
yup I am gay and many may say that is the reason that I bleed, but i have had this issue even before i was ever penetrated ..ahem....
Also happens when I eat a lot of spicy food ... I think I have piles .. sometime sthe rectum gets these swollen wart like stuff whenever i force my sh*t out too much ....
Today I was so freaking scared because the amount of blood that came out was simply ridiculous....

It sounds like many of you are kids and scared. First of all, it is most likely hemorrhoids. They can be outside the rectum and visible or inside and not visible. If you are constipated or have diarrhea, you can get them. Try not pushing so hard, and DEFINITELY increase your water consumption. That is the best thing you can do. This is fairly common so try not to freak out. If you don't stick with drinking more water and eating more fiber (fruits, vegies, salads), then it can happen again and again. Once the hemorroids calm down, the bleeding stops. If it continues for more than 3-5 days or is excessive now, then see your doctor, who can prescribe an ointment to put on it. And, please, please, tell your parents when it does happen. They care about you and need to know and have probably had it happen also, so they can put your mind at ease a little...
There are serious problems associated with this so if you've had it for some time, then really go to the doctors. It could be linked to rupture of the colon from some infection.

Yes there could be something serious going on leading to bleeding like colon cancer or something less serious: infection.

but after reading this i realsied i hadnt been drinking a lot of water of late so that could be the problem.
mind you my first thought was bowel cancer as my mum had that. but it just like i cut my self sorta blood for me so prob nothing serious. ya know bright red water like stuff.

WOW, it seems everyone has this problem. My grandmother, who has bowel cancer and is a nurse, said to drink 16 glasses water a day (double the recommended), have a metamucil dose every morning, and to eat an apple and a pear (for the soluble fibre) and wholegrain cereals or oats for breakfast (insoluble fibre). She also said to avoid eating meat, and that if it lasts more than 5 days, see a doctor, she also told me that it was common among younger males, especially those who are not physically active (although im very fit), im only 15 and am worried, but im sure it should go away, I will keep posting here.

It must have been from that Mcdonalds I had last week. I hadn't had it since November of 2008 but last week I broke down and decided, why not? It did make me have to push harder than usual....and now, the result is blood when I poo.

Passing a hard stool can also cause fissures which are like paper cuts on your anus (ouch)
If you have constant bleeding during a bowel movement i suggest seeing your Dr. asap. Most likely it may only be hemorrhoids. Based on age &risk factors it also can be more serious conditions like Colon Cancer/Rectal Cancer.
Several tests can rule out the worst
Visual inspection of the anus for external (internal tend to bleed more)
Anascopy would be the 1st to check for internal hemorrhoids... if swollen/enlarged/ruptured veins are found.... you've got hemorrhoids,
if not...
sigmoidoscopy, is a procedure that will run a camera from the anus to about half way up the colon to check for any sources of bleeding

Also, for the little lady who just started her 1st period.... the vagina is very close to the anus....you maybe wiping incorrectly and assuming your anus is bleeding as well.

16 glasses is extreme, however fiber is very important. The more fiber/ the more bulk your stool will be. The bulkier the stool is, the better chance it has removing the nasties in the colon during a bowel movement. At 15, I would not worry yourself to death re: what you eat, however don't neglect your fruits/veggies!
ok guys the some thing happened to me after taking a dump but i didnt put pressure after my dump i just wiped and boom theres blood on my paper well towards the end of the day i asked my mom wat was wrong she said it happend to one of my uncles and she said to drink lots of water and no salt lemons or sugar o and drink milk to. then i remebered that the day before i was eating chips with lemon and lots of salt in it maybe thats wat the problem is
