I thought I would type this in the hope that someone finds it useful. My name is Chris I have been swannee'ing in and out of heroin use for the last 5 years. In fairness and I think unusually I have spent more time clean than not but seem to allways go back to it.....?
Anyhooo the long and short of it is I ended up getting back on it over christmas and geting put on a suboxone script, it did swap quite easily from the heroin as it just so happened that i couldn't score anyway so that was a really helpful coincedence...
Even though the inital swap over was easy (the effect came within about 10 mins and within 30 minuets it was 99% making me feel better) I found myself really sweating alot so they increased my dose, the sweating remained as bad, and rather that going clean like i had planned the right time didn't come...
Every weekend there was something and so i couldn't or (or wouldn't maybe) get round to going clean. So i some how decided methadone was the way foward. That was a MASSIVE mistake, o.k i was stable but it screwed with me and I got ready to do the meth cluck and it was about an 8/10 scale harsh.
3 days in I read up and saw it takes f*****g ages coming off like upto 2 months (which i didn't know) so i have swapped back to suboxone here is how it went....
I was on 50ml meth daily pick-up, they give me sat and sundays worth (100 ml) which i took all of as i thought im coming off so f**k it, i bought 100ml sunday to keep me going till monday--- Monday i goto to pick up but there is nothing (thanks for telling me what day doctor type dudes ) so i go home ready for withdrawals (which had vaugely started) they got real bad and i thought f**k this i could do with a tiny smoke of gear just to see me through (12 hour half life innit so f**k it!) so I called a mate up (who we have had each others backs for time) and he dually came round (about 4 hours later!!!) so i was comfy(ish) that night, just right really defo going into withdrawals but not so screwed that the mile walk to docs wasn't possible.
Anyway Tuesday... I go to pick up and there is only 4mg of suboxone (thanks for telling me that doctor type dudes )... i go home and take this and it does send me into a rapid withdrawal (my fault for doing the gear for sure!!!) but the same mate who helped before bought around 8mg of Suboxone that evening which saved me really. Some of my mates (who mostly dont use) were visiting me and i really was a sorry cu** when they first came round but after the 8mg I was much closer to comfortable and slept relatively soundly through the night.
Wednesday(today)...
I got a taxi to doctors (only a fiver) so glad i didn't have to walk, they had 12 mgs waiting for me and it only made me a bit better the walk home was f*****g horrible. But today i dragged my butt round a mate who owes me some cash for tommorows pick up...
I have a real feeling that tommorow is going to be alot better...
