I have an impacted right molar, and its causing me terrible pain. i had a baby 7 months ago with no oain med, and this is still worse! Its affecting my whole right side of my face, my jaw, teeth, ears and a headache. its gotten so bad ive gone to the ER twice, they gave me vicodin, but its not touching the pain. the bad part is i have no insurance and my local dental clinic wont see me unless i have medicaid which im told i do not qualify for. im a full time student and mom and im in pain 24/7 and have no idea what to do...any suggestions?
I don't understand if you are a full time mom and go to school, why medicaid won't help you.
Is there a Dentist who will somehow put you on a payment plan?
Our Doctors are sworn to uphold the oath that they took when they became Doctors. Regardless of race, color, creed, religion blah blah blah, they are supposed to help to get someone out of pain, not add to it by worrying about how they will get paid.
That is the first question that you are asked when you are rushed to the ER. You could be laying on the floor with your head hanging off and the receptionist will look over to you and ask>>What kind of insurance do you have?? >;) >;) >;)
As soon as your reply is, i will pay out of pocket, notice that funny look that you get. I am disgusted with the whole insurance c**p. Used to be hospitals didn't ask that question right away, now it's the first thing out of their mouths. Never mind asking what the problem is first, it's basically how are we going to get our money?
Sorry, got carried away. Anyway like i said, see if a local Doctor will look at you and put you on some kind of sliding fee scale. Or go to the ER and demand to see the Dentist on call.
