Hello, I had my Implanon implant removed yesterday after having two back to back over 6 years. A friend recommended to use ovulation tests every day to make sure that ovulation resumes as normal - I didn't realise there was a risk of not ovulating after Implanon?! Had anyone done this and how quickly did they ovulate or their cycle return to normal? My husband an I would really like to conceive out first baby :) Thanks

When I had mine inserted I was told by the OBGYN that implanon did not stop ovulation but prevented pregnancy other ways i.e., thicker mucous membrane and uninviting endometrial lining. I had regular ovulation pains while on the implant which is why I had to take it out. I had always been on forms of birth control in the past that prevented ovulation and found out when I had Implanon inserted I have very painful ovulation pains. Since removal of Implanon and trying to conceive I have not had normal ovulation pains and since August of 2012 (removal of Implanon) I have only ovulated once that I know of. I don't know if there is any correlation between the removal of Implanaon and this fact.
