Hi, i've been reading this all with great interest. I was on Depo but as I was getting married and my now husband and I had discussed having a baby when my depo was due again end Sept 09 I had implanon instead. I had my implant removed 4 Jan 2010 and have had period pains (comes and goes) and my breasts are so sore I cannot tell you, putting a bra on hurts and when I take it off at the end of the day urgh!! I've started having some discomfort during intercourse and some period type pains after although this isn't every time. I've done numerous pregnancy tests all are negative.
I'd like to know if anyone else came from Depo to Implanon and then tried to conceive and how long it took. I've no sign of a period and a few years ago after i'd been on Depo I came off it for a break and it took 6 months to have a period. Is my body reacting to the original depo I wonder and it will take until Feb to bleed???

I've had my implanon for a year, i've gained 3 stone of weight without changing my lifestyle, my skin is a mess after never having spots in my life, it hurts to have sex and my breasts are always sore. Not to mention my relationship is suffering due to the ridiculous mood swings I have been having.
I wouldn't recommend implanon to anyone. I'm getting mine out next week.

I was also unaware that you are not spose to have unprotected sex before having the implanon removed which i did with my now ex. I took a pregnancy test last week which came back neg and now i am wondering if i should just wait for my periods to come or go see a doctor because i would like to know sooner then later about the chances of being pregnant as the break up with my ex bf was only days ago and this will complicate things and telling him sooner then later would be best.

hi girls, well im 29 soon, and have had the implanon in for 8 years, and never had a period, it worked well for me in that way, because it was one less thing to worry about.
But for a long while since being on it had noticed that i had no sex drive and couldn't even get aroused for so many years.
my sex life sucked and i hated it. So 4 weeks ago i got it taken out, and stil havn't had a period, so im just waiting for it to come( hopefully it does because i have no idea if it has done harm to my body, because i want children.)
my sex life to date, since havn it taken out is 80% better than what it was. i enjoy it and am experiencing everythn i did before i got it put in 8 years ago.
so i just wanted people to know my story. and the sex part was the most suckiest thing that happened while being on it.

Im in a very similar situation to many of you, i had my implant removed nearly 3 weeks ago (had it in my arm for full 3 years), my bf and i are very active i guess and had sex almost everyday up to the point of removing my impant and yes it was unprotected as i wasn't aware of the "7 day rule" either. We had a few times since wen we totally forget (heat of the moment) that i hadnt got the rod in anymore and we used the pull out method ( which i knw can be jst as bed as him finishing normally). i hve had nausea, one day of stomach cramps, swollen and tender breats/nipples but no period. Reading posts on this forum and other forums it seems a possibility i may b pregnant but im stil confused. i have taken two test both negative but i have been told its too eary to tell. If i am not pregnant i blame impanon for my pregnancy symptoms. Im so gald that there are othr women in similar situations because the nurse i went to see made me feel like i was stupid for not knowing about the 7day rule.
if anyone ele could give me some advice or thinks i am or am not pregnant i wud b grateful for the response

Okay so I got this dumb thing implanted in my arm I think its been almost 3 months now. Well every since then ive been on and off my period CONSTANTLY. If im not bleeding and i try to have sex, ill start to bleed right then and there, its dumb and i wish i could rip this thing out myself right now. Im going Monday to get it removed though thank goodness! My symtoms are: Sore boobs, discharge out of my boobs, cant sleep good at night been taking lots of naps during the day, eating, and an odor. This thing really sucks and i recommend that noone gets it. Eventually the emplonon is gonna be one of those warning things on tv and people are probably going to try to take it to court lol. i got the implanon put in on nov 2009 just got it out april 15 2011 2 days after geting it out i had tummy cramps but no period the a month later tummy cramps again but still no period so i took a preg test it was neg so i did not worry about it well yesterday jun the 23 i started having cramps and today also so i called my doc and about 2 hrs after i made the call it came i finaly started 10 weeks after getting it out my doc returend my call i told her what was going on and she say that if i just spot and dont have i reguler one then take a test she say i can be preg with out even starting one before this one i was like wow but i did not also know about the 7 day thang tell now
I actually had a really good expierence with my implanon. I had it for the full 3 years. I had it put in while in the military and just removed a few days ago. I didnt have any side effects...it was really convienient for me.
But now after getting it removed, the first night I cried for over an hour for no reason, I have been feeling nauseas, back pain, clammy and hot, dizzy, my breasts are tender...I'm a little worried b/c like so many others, I had no idea that you cant have sex a week prior to having it out. I think my bf and I had sex everyday that week including the night before with no protection...I took a test yesterday and it was negative. I'm just worried that its too eary b/c you can have false negatives but not false positives...
Has anyone had a similar reaction?
Hi all i had my implant out 4 days ago im losing brown/red discharge as tho im goin to start a period but the pains im havin r beyond belief i had 4 children n its worse than after pains of havin a baby. I had the implant in a year n a half but in that time iv been on the pill aswell as i was constantly bleeding, i was not told about the 7 day rule either which i find abit discusting due to the fact so many of us havent heard about it x
Hi, wanted to share my experience - I was on depo injections for 6 years then changed to my first implanon - was great initially as was having zero periods and it took about a year for a period to arrive - then had an entire 18 months of bleeding (whilst on implanon) so decided to get the implant taken out. Wasn't exactly planning to start a family but didn't really use any contraception as was told it'd take up to a year for my fertility to return to normal. So from having the implant out in march 2007 it took me 9 months to get pregnant as I conceived in December 2007 - gave birth September 2008. Had another implanon put in December 2008 - first year lots of bleeding, 2nd year lots but light bleeding, third year not so much bleeding but still very irregular. Trying to get an appointment to get this one out - going to try something else or maybe have another baby if I'm blessed with one :) good luck to all you ladies with your implanon decisions - in or out :)

BUT NOW I DONT HAVE ANY DISCHARGE BUT A FEW DAYS AGO STARTED HAVING A VERY LIGHT PINK SPOTTING.. ONLY WHEN I USE THE RESTROOM... I TOOK SEVERAL TESTS UP UNTIL THE 25TH OF DEC.. BUT HAVENT TAKEN ONE SINCE.. IM NOT HAVING ANY BREAST TENDERNESS, MORNING SICKNESS...BUT I AM HAVING CRAVINGS AND ALWAYS TIRED, EVEN AFTER A COUPLE CUPS OF COFFEE IN THE MORNING. MY QUESTION IS.. Hi, I also have the implanon, and didnt get a period for over 12 months, no spotting or anything. If i was you i wouldnt be worried about that :) Also, as it may be hard for you to make a dr's app without the help of your mum, just maybe speak to her about it, it will lift a weight of your shoulders and the doctors will do a hormone test and you will know for sure. I know she may get angry and upset but its better to know
Hi my names Tasha i have had the implanon in for over 2 1/2yrs i had it removed on the 7th of this month had some spotting that afternoon but nothing since.. The whole time i had it in i was constantly cranky and always feeling sick.. The last 5 months i have had a regular P. i Have no idea about the 7 day before thing.. but since i have had it removed my partner and i had unprotected sex 2 days after having it removed and my body feels pregnant. I'm more tired, going to the the toilet more, my boobs felt heavier and fuller last night and discharge which i didn't have when i had the implanon in... I can't believe all the problems so many of us have faced if i had have known all this i would't have had it put in as my partner was aginst it, but we had just had our second child at the time..Do you have to have a P to fall pregnant after having it out as we are wanting baby num 3... My GP said too i could be 2 months before i get my first P...
