It is impossible to get a false positive, although you can get a false negative. If you've had any positive tests, you're pregnant. You NEED the implant out now. I advise you to bite the bullet and tell your parents. They might be more understanding and helpful than you expect.

I had the Implanon for a year before removal. I had the full spectrum of terrible side effects that you ladies are talking about. I wasn't taking it for birth control, my husband had a vasectomy, but for hormone regulation. It did lessen my depression and acne at first, but then severely worsened it. I gained 35 pounds...all the baby weight I had just worked so hard to lose after having my 2nd child. The constant bleeding/spotting and having to wear a pad 24/7. Swelling in my hands and feet to where I couldn't walk. The constant feeling of either being pregnant, PMS, or flu... My doctor was so condescending and told me it must be thyroid and that I should try working out. I insisted on getting it out and had my thyroid tested as well. Thyroid normal, it was obviously the Implanon.

It's now 2 years later... It took me 6 months to get a period. Since then, they still skip every couple of months even now. I'm still gaining weight, only more slowly now and STILL I work out and count calories. I got horrible acne for almost a year after having it removed. I've been so tired and drained feeling that I can sleep 14 hours and still be tired. I finally got my frequent sinus infections handled. But I'm trying to find a doctor to help me with my still continuing issues. I know I'm a rarer case, but this is my life now!. I went from losing weight and being down to 145 pounds, to now 190 and still gaining. The fatter I get the worse my depression and joint pain in knees and feet gets. I don't know what to do anymore!

I was aware of the possible side effects but I don't think mine are normal. It definitely was not worth it! I wish I could have the last 3 years of my life back!

I was on the nexplanon and recently got it removed. It had horrible side effects on me, mood swings, irregular periods, and it even started to make my hair fall out. I've lost about 50% of my hair. Little do most people know and docs won't tell you... Your body is a temple. You should only put healthy things inside. Well I guess my body was sensitive.. Extremely sensitive to the implant that it made me lose a lot of hair. It's rare, but could happen to anyone. And we shall see if the effects reverse them selves.. Which my doc said it should.

I had my Nexplanon for a year and it was wonderful, no periods no side effects or anything. I had it taken out 1/26/16 and ever since then have been having cramping, fatigue and nausea. Ive had it out almost 3 weeks and have now recently had sore breasts, cramping, fatigue and nausea still, also over emotional. My husband and I are TTC and I took a pregnancy test at 2 weeks with a BFN, any advice? I don't know whats going on with my body and its frustrating. :(

BeccaNoel- It's normal to have those symptoms after removal. Your body is trying to get back to normal. There is a chance you could be pregnant. I've read Alot of people got pregnant within two days of having it out!

I'm having mine out on Tuesday (may17,2016) after having it for 2 1/2 years. It's by far the worst BC I've ever had.
The side effects are terrible and that's why I'm having it out... I've been CRAZY lately like it's bad :/
this site is very slow so my typing is dragging...if anyone has any questions about my journey with this horrible BC feel free to contact me

Hey ladies
I've had my implanon for 10 years now I'm 26. I'm wondering if I can expect weight loss after removal and a more mellow personality?
I'm wondering what having it for so long had done to my body? Not that I want a child straight away but with so many hormones I hope it hasn't screwed anything up. It's just been so long I wouldnot know myself without it. But I'd describe myself as very moody. It never occurred to me it might be the implanon

Hi I had my implant out on Wednesday 15th June 2016, it was my second implant but I cut it short and had it taken out after a year and a half. I would say I noticed my mental state pick up as soon as it was out, physically I am absolutely exhausted! I've put on 3 stone in the 4 and a half years and found it hard to even recognise myself. I have had terrible stomach pains, they struggled to get the implant out (45 minutes and two nurses) as the implant had encapsulated itself within my arm, so was not an easy removal..
I am just wondering as I am nearing a week of it being out, does anyone else know what to expect? Will I start to lose weight? How long this sickness and tiredness will last, I know we are all different but a general thought of how long my body will take to adjust?
I can't believe we aren't told about this prior to the implant being put in!
I also read another forum that we should take primrose oil and eat a lot a of red meat and protein throughout this process!
I hope this helps anyone who is feeling very alone and frustrated with these symptoms!

I haven't had a period for 45 days and I removed mine 3 weeks ago... Been having pregnancy symptoms but 2 negative tests... Had bright red bleeding for a couple of hours but it stopped, saw clear fluid from nipples when squeezed also.... Soreness in stomach too ... What's going on here?

Hi - I had the first implanon inserted in 2004 when my son was 6 weeks old and had my 4th one removed in early June. I had very few issues while on it - no periods, no mood swings (as far as I'm aware - my husband might say something different?), but a little bit of weight gain & bloating. Since having it removed I still have not had a period. I've had feelings like I'm going to get a period, but nothing has happened yet. I'm not too concerned as I figure my body will regulate in due course. My husband has had a vasectomy so I'm also not concerned about getting pregnant. I no longer have bloating, which is a good thing.
So, I in answer to your query, maybe your body is just taking a bit of time to regulate?
