He is married and has a son. He has been an EMT since 2000 and a paramedic since 2006. He works for three different services and he is a volunteer. He is one of the most helpful members on SteadyHealth, and the leader of our community. In October, our members have recognized him as The Member Of The Month. He is medic-dan.
As one of the most important community leaders, how much time do you spend on SteadyHealth and what is the main driver for helping others?
It varies as to how much time I put in. Some days I only can get on for a few minutes, other days maybe an hour or so. I often do it at work when on call. I like helping others, I guess you could say I'm a "people" person.
What do you like the most on SteadyHealth and would you change anything?
I like how the categories are organized and that you can find a lot of "older" question and answers easily - it's a great resource. If I could change anything, maybe add "stickies." Lots of the same questions seem to keep coming up.
Do you have a message you want to send to the community?
Please use protection when having sex - before there is any contact! It would greatly reduce the amount of anxiety I see in a lot of posts.
What is the quote you find most amazing or the one that helps you out in tough times?
"It's their emergency, don't make it our emergency." You need to be able to distance yourselves from emotion at times and make hard decisions. Focus on the task at hand and above all, protect yourself.
