I have similar symptoms , by pure chance I've cured my prostatitis. Take 25mg a day of Viagra and see what happens ! Good luck.

I've had this problem for 8 years. Burning and irritation for days and even weeks after masturbation. I tried all the typical antibiotics and drugs. Nobody knew what it was.

Finally I went to a pelvic pain rehab clinic. They do internal trigger points, and release tension.
It was amazing, really amazing. I felt better than I had in YEARS.

I go every week for the last 6 weeks, and even though I occasionally have some symptoms, I feel 80%+ better, and a lot of days NO PAIN AT ALL.

Highly recommended, urologists never recommend them, but I'm not sure why. And insurance can cover up to 80% of the cost.

Just do it. Stop looking for drugs or figuring out what food triggers it. Its likely physical.

Hey guys I would like to share my experience. i had problem of painful erection that would make my penis feel hard and painful. With antibiotic treatment things improved but never away.

However, i started doing yoga and things changed in six months. Specially- if you are able to do sun salutation is very helpful. Try yoga for six months - it will help

Wow, I had no idea that so many other guys were suffering from the same thing. I'm 49 and have dealt with this almost 30 years now. I was diagnosed in my early 20's with chronic prostatitis. In my 20's and 30's it was exactly as you described. If I ejaculated I seemed fine afterwards, but the next day I felt a burning in my urethra after urinating. The second day was even worse, I'd have a dull ache/burn in my penis full time. Then it seemed to take another day or two to get back to normal.

Forget it if I had two or three ejaculations in a week. If I over did it like that I'd end up doubled over in pain after urinating. Pain and throbbing all day. At its worst I'd even get shooting pains in my lower abdomen. I guess I slowly learned how to space out my ejaculations enough to tolerate the pain episodes and feel somewhat sexually satisfied.

Then in my 40's a gradual change took place that I almost didn't notice. It gradually took more ejaculations and frequency to trigger the same pain that one ejaculation used to drive. So now at 49 I can ejaculate up to three times a week without painful episodes the following days after. But if I ejaculate daily for a week or so it will slowly build up and I'll end up having a big flare up episode.

The interesting thing is I went to a urologist for another issue and mentioned my history with this issue also. She was skeptical at first that it was ejaculation driven. She kept wanting to steer it toward diet or drinking coffee, etc. as driving the flare ups. I was adamant though that it was ejaculation and ejaculation frequency that drives it and that the pain felt like it was in my urethra rather than a painful prostate.

She brought up an interesting theory/comment that is resonating with me. She mentioned the force and velocity of the ejaculation seems to be causing some kind of harm/irritation to the urethra. The next day the acid in the urine can be the burning sensation. Then if you ejaculate again before it's healed it causes it to be worse.

I had a cystoscopy done today and they didn't find any strictures or anything blocking my urethra. But she did ask me to pay attention to how I feel in the coming days because the procedure definitely irritates the urethra and if I feel the same kind of feelings it lends itself to the issue being my ejaculation is somehow irritating/damaging my urethra. And sure enough after urinating today I have the same burning/dull ache feeling that my ejaculations usually elicit.

Anyway I guess for me, after all these years I've learned to live with it.

Just a follow up to my post. My urologist has me taking an Azo pill after ejaculating and it's completely eliminated this problem for me. No pain the following day. If I feel irritation at all the next day I just take another Azo pill.

I have the same exact problem you have with the issue and the doctors. Had every exam possible under the sun except allowing the doctor to look up the tube to see what the problem might be. My father had issues with his prostate also. Unsure if his was as bad as the issues I am experiencing but I have a gut feeling they were because the doctor examine him manually by looking up the tube and it only made matters worse for him so I decided to opt out when the doctor asked me if I wanted him to perform the exploring up the tube since I don't care to make matters worse. I took Cypro, it help for a short period of time and the pain is back again but not quite as bad. I am also considering abstaining from sex like you. Tired of the pain.

I have the same issue. Seems like the semen gets caustic or irritating after a week or so if not ejaculated. I have no fever, blood or other symptoms. It may be non bacterial prostatitis or some kind of allergic reaction to food. Who knows. Have had some level of prostate issues for over 30 years. Have taken cycles of antibiotics. Seems to help but never a complete cure. At this point, it's the most under control its ever been. What works for me is to drink mostly or only water and maybe weak green tea with honey. No soda, or coffee. No irritating foods like tomato sauce, taco sauce, chili or chips with BBQ powder, onion powder or garlic powder. No hard liquor. Beer or hard cider seems to be OK for me. That chip powder stuff is really irritating. A vinegar treatment might help. I discovered this after eating a a large serving of vinegar based coleslaw. So maybe try making cole slaw with vinegar for a meal or apple cider vinegar mixed with water and a spoonful of honey once in a while. Not sure if this will help other people. Probably depends on your particular condition. Ejaculate at least twice a week, preferably by intercourse as it seems to better clear out the pipes. Be on top during ejaculation. Use gravity to your advantage. Also try taking an advil especially if you're irritated down there an hour before sex as it seems to bring down inflammation so you can clear the prostate more completely. If you cheat on the foods once in a while, like a chili or a soda a couple times a week you might get away with it and maybe not. Depends. But if you cheat on several foods in a row, you definitely won't. If you skip sex for 1 or 2 week's, your symptoms will return and the vicious cycle starts over. The trick is to get down the inflammation and keep it that way because once it starts, the urine seems to irritate the urethra even more and the irritation cycle feeds itself. Also when peeing try to empty the bladder completely. Stand up when peeing or "back squirt" the last drops out if sitting down to pee. Make sure your bladder is completely empty before ejaculating. So go pee right before you plan to have sex. No need to have a half full bladder pushing on your prostate when you get to blast out the semen. If you develop a little more pee after sex and are still awake, go pee. Better to clean the urethra out if you can. Use advil for a few days if necessary while you have a couple good sex sessions and avoiding irritating foods and drinks to calm down the prostate and urethra. Get the inflammation down, and follow the routine of sex twice a week and no irritating foods. The Broccoli treatment seems to help but it may be the same as as a long term flush of drinking only water. Anyways this is what works for me. On good days I can even forget that there is any issue at all. Good luck.

Did anyone get a real answer to this? I don't think the doctor's reply is helpful

First, thanks to everyone who has posted here. reading this stream has been very enlightening. I, too have had sore prostate issues for almost 30 years. This is what I've learned. Keep in mind that everyone's body is different, but I think what I've learned jives well with many other posters on this stream:

What helps me:
1) Hot baths
2) Use of an anti-inflammatory such as ibuprofen
3) Abstinence, I know this is a tough one, but simply increasing the time between ejaculations can bring a good deal of relief (start by doubling the time and see how you do)
4) Gentler ejaculations. Take things slow and easy
5) Urinating after ejaculating

What doesn't seem to make much of a difference for me:
1) Prostate massage
2) Food changes
3) Antibiotics (other than minor anti-inflammatory effects)

Best of luck to all sufferers out there!

How will the hot water remain so hot after 3 hours? That does not make sense. It will cool after 20 minutes of so and thereafter remain warm, and eventually be only luke warm.

Thanks everyone for your insights. This is a topic for us to figure out.
I'm writing this from my bed while getting over a fever. This fever came on after having intercourse with my wife of 39 years. The first time I urinated after sex I sensed something wrong because it felt very warm. Typically after ejaculation I experience urgency, retension and trouble voiding starting a day later and lasting 2 - 4 days... then slowly getting better.

The one thing I've noticed is that sex at night always brings on these issues but sex in the morning gives me a 50% chance without issues. I don't know why but I assume it's because shortly thereafter I get up and move move around vs laying in bed.
I'd be interested to know if this helps anyone
-God Bless
