No, I still have chronic pain in back and hip and shoulder, and intermittent vertigo. I have 'adjusted' my lifestyle to cope with the pain, but can no longer dance/perform.
I recently discovered that the Dr doing the LP lied about the procedure in the follow up notes - b****r all I can do about it almost 7 years on.
I hope your pains ease. Take care.

I had a spinal tap and now i feel a ball in my hip
Having similar issues... pain killers do nothing (other than cause other health issues) - I did get relief using Valium, it released the muscle flare up, but because it worked, they took me off it (??!!!) and no Dr will prescribe it to me now that I've changed practise. They say that it's addictive - without listening to the fact that I only need a couple of nights of Valium to reset things. I don't need to be on them long-term. A few nights allow the muscles to relax, meaning I can get some sleep, meaning I am able to cope with pain better. No sleep = MASSIVE pain - no sleep. sigh.
I hope you find ways of coping with the pain.

I had the same problem for more than a year the pain doesn't stop can you give more information about suing
Most doctors / residents have no training and only recommend lumbar punctures so they can practice. I've had lower back pain for over a year thanks to my botched lp.

How are you now? I ask because I just had the same thing happen and I'm wondering if there's any hope.
Hello my name is Roman I went a lumbar puncture 2 yrs ago and now I can sit down but when I go to get up I have a tremendous amount of pain it feels as if a fireball is going up through my spine do you know the complications of this effect and what might be causing it to do that
Appears I'm nit the ink you one struggling. I have a had probably 8 taps in the past few years, with diagnosis of psedu tumor celebri. Had the spinal headaches that cane last for a few weeks but this hip/leg pain is a new one to me. During my 4th tap in 2 week the anisitologist who came to ER, really hurt me. I swear he missed the section completely and put that needle directly in the nerve or something that made my left leg contract and extreme pain. Two days later Neuro surgery put a shunt in from back to abdomen. I wthought the pain I was having was due to that but realizing as I'm healing fri the surgery the significant pain remaining is where he pushed that needed during LP. Anyone else? Following up with Neuro Surgery on Tuesday. Hoping he didn't do long term damage.
I've had this going on for five years from hip pain. No relief. I'm 22.
Hi there, I'm sorry for what happened you, could you tell me please if you got better because I also am suffering very bad 3 months later and need my body for everything I do including sport and acting
My husband was prescribed baclofen for cramping and twitching of muscles,so what you said is not accurate. Thank you
I was just recently admitted into the hospital for migraines, they did two failed LP's in the ER & it was crying in pain because I felt so much pressure in my left side. Fortunately my doctor was very nice about it and she felt terrible so she stopped after the second one, however I've talked to numerous doctors since then and they're saying the numbness & tingling I'm getting in my face, neck, and arms isn't from my LP because a lumbar puncture is in your LOWER back. I work with infants every day, my dream career is going down the drain because I can no longer perform safe child care with my babies. Honestly, I think the only possible way to take care of this is through a lawyer.
I totally agree that the L.P. is deadly. I would never recommend it to anyone!! I had on 3 months and 2 days ago...i was having migraines and my Dr sent me to the ER for one. I ended up in emergency surgery with a subdural hematoma and a craniotomy was performed!! I went back two days later after the L.P. and was rushed into surgery after passing out! It still seems so crazy to me because no one made it seem like the L.P. could be that horrifying.
Look for herniated disc esp if you have sciatic pain
