Hello! I realize it has been quite some time since you posted here, but I am hoping you can tell me what you have found out. I have the exact same symptoms and I have been searching the internet for answers for days. I would rather not go to see my traditional doctor unless completely necessary. Do you have any tips or answers?
Thank you so much!
Jess

Hi,yes tell your doctor you could go see a ears nose and throat Doctor.
Hi,an ears nose and throat Doctor will help just go see one or ask for a referral from your Doctor.
Hello,an ears nose and throat Doctor should help you:
There's two canals in the throat: esophagous (leads to stomach) and trachea (pipe that connects to lungs and where vocal cords are). The epiglottis is a flap over the trachea (also named Larynx) to prevent food and drink from entering the trachea. There are 3 chambers in the back of your throat before it enters the two canals: Nasopharynx (back of nose), Oropharynx (back of mouth) and Laryngopharyx (chamber above epiglottis before it enters the esophagous or trachea)
So no. The "top of the throat" should be one of those chambers, most likely the Oropharynx or the Laryngopharynx.
