Has anyone heard about erythromelalgia? This describes my issues exactly. They say it is a neurological disorder and can be either primary or secondary to another illness.

My fingers swell and itch and become tight when I go shopping, like touch shopping carts. Also when I use strong detergents. Very uncomfortable.

I've had the exact issue....I'm a cosmetologist. I feel your pain. I started taking culturelle prebiotic, after 2 weeks, GONE.skin disorders are autoimmune, prebiotic work on digestive track, where autoimmune, can play a huge roll. Hope I helped, i promise, not more gloves:)

erythromelalgia?
I get this problem too and this is the best answer I could find after my years of searching online. My palms often crack open and I can't extend my fingers at all. I've started wearing compression gloves with the steroids from the doctor but they never heal fully.

It happens to me when I walk for a long period of time in hit weather usually in my hands/palms only and I would just walk with my hands up to relieve some of the pressure. Or saying I've had enough and was ready to leave. It has happened other ways like abrupt change in temp to my palms but the first thing I mentioned is most common for me. Never thought to ask my doctor about it and I probably won't but I believe it's erythromelalgianot

This has happened to me about 1/2 a dozen times now- not an allergic reaction. It may be related to my carpal tunnel issue

I have had this happen to me. After 1 week of hard, red, swollen, itchy hands; they peel. My hands look like snakes and so far no one has told me what is causing it. It’s very uncomfortable and annoying.

I have exactly the same problem. Started after I had my baby and I see the common thing here is surgery :( I had a C section. Doctors keep prescribing prednisone, fexo, celestamine but These are short term meds. Don’t know how to handle this anymore. I am permanently on antihistamines. I did have RA but has been gone or in remission for 2 years now.

I got really lucky. I tried several things and finally tried capzacin for a couple of days and it went away. I'm about to get surgery done soon on my neck and totally forgot about this happening after my last surgery. Good luck, don't give up.
