could any of these reports of an itchy and swollen face be a result of people getting too much sun and possible sun poisoning? My boyfriend has been complaining since after gettting sunburn from an event he attended and he doesnt have any answers as to why this has suddenly happened. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I already know about eczema and dermititis and the use of hydrocorodine products.
Hi There
I have a terrible irristable itchiness around my face after using sukin products and a new shampoo for nearly a week
Awkful feeling, like mosquitoes/ caterpillar are around my face, especially the areas adjencent to my hair
I would try stopping using them, and hopefull can win over the battle
Thanks
I truly wish I could help but I have been suffering for years with the same thing. It first started out as only an itching problem but for the past six months I have been having a swollen red face combined with terrible itching - so bad that I want to literally rip into my skin. Also I have started to get bumps that stay - never go away on my face and body. I too have been to three dermatologists and allergists plus a family practice doctor. Much money has been spent on RX's and over the counter medicine/creams. The only thing that has given relief is prednisone but we all know we can't stay on this for the long term. I am literally at my wits end.
my problem also is not going away. went to the beach for three days but did use #50 sunscreen and sat under umbrella but everything is still the same. still swelling - itchy - burning at times and I also have many many bumps that continue to pop out over my face and now my neck is really red, itchy, burning with lots and lots of bumps that continue to multiply. on Friday I have appt with my PCP who wants to do a biopsy on one/two of the bumps on my neck. Then he also has referred me to a kidney doctor who I see the end of August. Have had no problems with my kidneys or any symptoms so this will be very interesting. I will do anything to get some relief. Hate that other people are going thru the same misery that I am but it is nice to know I am not alone. Prayers and relief to everyone!
Hydrocortisone will likely fix the problem, but only temporarily and when it comes back, it'll be worse. This chemical is HORRIBLE to use; it thins out the skin making it more susceptible to problems (I know this from much experience. Doctors will likely get you to use it, but remember that doctors don't typically fix the real problem, they usually just fix the symptoms (you would know better than they would what could be the cause, and they only get to spend maybe 15 minutes with you at the clinic, so it's not really their fault).
Go ahead and try the doctor, but don't expect them to have a magic cure, and AVOID THE HYDROCORTISONE CREAMS!!!!!! Try to do some investigations on your own as well; did anything trigger it? Often these are allergic reactions.
You are describing what my daughter has had all her life. After 20 years of Doctors, we found out it is Psoriatic Arthritis. Please be tested for that. No harm if it isn't it.
hi!
i also have this problem,i've found that some hair products can bring this on.
my issue was hair spray!
Hi all-
I just stumbled onto this thread just now and have read every post with great interest. I just began having these symptoms about three weeks. The first bout last about 4-5 days, then quickly healed. I had about two and a half weeks of no problems, and now the dry, severe itch, and puffy face is happening again. It's so crazy because it seems like we're all experiencing almost the exact same symptoms. Here's my situation:
I'm 28 years old, male, never had any plant or pollen allergies in my life. I'm also about 95% raw vegan. I eat a clean diet. Don't put any chemicals or perservatives in my body. Guys, I'll be frank, I'm a pretty big hippie. I don't use any shampoo. The soap I use is organic made from lavender and animal fat. I only shower about three times per week, so there are no chemicals or facial creams I can point to in order to explain these breakouts.
I am seriously concerned. These symptoms are painful and unbearable, and also unsightly. It kills my confidence.
In the meanwhile, here are some possible suggestions that I've picked up from other blogs.
-Take generous doses of vitamin D. It acts as a natural steriod-hormone in your body. Calms inflammation
-Vitamin B - mentioned earlier.
-Get lots of sleep during prime night time hours (between 11pm-4am), and just sleep in general.
Best of luck, and my heart goes out to all of you. Please, someone let us know if you stumble upon a solution for works.
Amazing ! I have the same symptoms dermatalogists says its rosacea but i am not convinced of that. The PA at there office gave me Elidel cream and Atarax pills daily. As long as I take and use it daily it keeps it under control. If i stop for two days it comes back.
I'm allergic to Vitamin E (aka tocopheryl acetate) and didn't know that it's in alot of lotions, makeup and lip balm. I google everything for ingredients in a product before I use it now!
