this post has been very helpful, i have just recently had a baby, 4 months ago, and i am getting alot of jelly like substance coming out of me, sometimes a little sometimes alot.
I am def not pregnant, and its def not an STI and am glad to hear that so many other woman suffer from this too. I reckon it must have alot to do with hormones as I started taking the mini pill straight after my baby and had a lot of problems with bleeding and acne so have stopped taking it altogether.
This jelly like dischage began shortly after i started taking the pill, which is progesterone only, so am hoping it will settle down again in a week or two.
Looks very similar to the 'Show' you have when you are going into labour so i think it has got something to do wi the cervix and hormones and general womans thing.
Anyway thanks ladies for giving me a bit peice of mind. :-D

Thanks ladies,
I have been having this issue for some time now but now constantly. I thought is was just the vaginas' way of cleaning itself and tried to avoid intercourse with my hubby when going through this.Well actually now to think about it, this only happens when I'm not taking birth control, so I guess it was due to ovulation. This information was really helpful.

but what if its jelly-like and there is no infection or anything?

I'm 22, going to be 23 next month. The mucous I get is usually very sticky, but not often wet. It doesn't smell and I don't itch or burn, I just get random glops of what I can only assume to be normal cervical mucous from ovulation. Since I cannot afford to go to a doctor on a regular basis I haven't been to a gynaecologist since 2007. I have a boyfriend now and he often comments on the mucous from me that we find on him after... y'know. :$ It's almost never him, though. We mess around a little bit but "end" with mutual masturbation. At least he's not disgusted by it; we both find it amusing. I have had this since I started puberty, although it has increased by quite a lot within the past five years. I'm starting to think it might be normal.

Yep it sure does mean you're fertile or ovulating! I experienced that jelly blob a couple months ago when I was having sex with my boyfriend. I have never seen that in my life! It was just dangling from my vagina and it fell on him lol! Embarrassing! I just passed it off as cum. But look at me now I'm pregnant. :-)

I'm 3 months pregnant and I'm having the same problems. Do you still ovulate when pregnant?

i have the same problem...except its like, almost non stop. except for when im actually on my period. i haven't had sex since the end of july, and it like never stops. i have to take constant trips to the bathroom to check to make sure its not my period...and sometimes i wear pads because i get a little worried that the wetness is going to go through my jeans and people can see it.

I can relate, I had several smear tests with abnormal results since coming off my pill and went to the hospital to see a specialist. They stuck a camera up inside and have taken a cutting of my cervix to be sent to the lab for testing of cancer cells but they dont think it is. I have also been having thick jelly like discharge usually string like that you can pull out from the cervix, it's clear in colour sometimes white cloudy like in places but I have no idea what it is. I have been to the sexual health clinic and been tested and my results came back clear but as I still dont feel "right" I have taken antibiotics for Thrust, Chlamidia and BV just incase and am still having the same discharge. It's not an STD so what the hell is it?

I know this is kind of an older post, but I wanted to briefly respond to "bev".....

Regarding your symptoms and physical description...with regard to why you are not getting preggers:

I would strongly suggest that you set up an appointment with your GYNO and ask to be checked for PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome).
