Ladies,
I'd like to ease your minds by sharing my own story regarding this same issue. There was a time when I had similar fears to yours.
Prior to age 19, I had never had jelly-like discharge come out of my vagina, only watery, clear lubrication.
At age 19, I started taking birth control to regulate my period, etc. I kept using the pill consistently after that.
Now and then, if I chose to skip a month of taking birth control pills, I would notice this jelly-like discharge which alarmed me because it was so foreign to me. I was grossed out by it and also nervous about it, since I didn't understand why it was happening--so I went to the gynecologist.
He informed me that this is a totally normal, healthy part of a woman's ovulation cycle. He said, "Congratulations! It just means your fertile!" Apparently, if you produce this jelly during ovulation, it is a sign that your reproductive system is in working order.
For some reason, when you are on birth control, this jelly discharge ceases to come out; when I am on the pill, my vaginal discharge is not thick or jelly-like at all.
So, if you want to avoid the jelly situation each month, my recommendation is that you consider taking birth control pills--and don't go off of them unless you are OK with the jelly coming back...because it's a normal part of a woman's life during her reproductive years (if she isn't taking any birth control meds).
Hope this helps you!
When the discharge is clear, you can feel safe. Even when its quantity and thickness change, you don’t have the reasons to start feeling nervous. Stress won’t do anything good. With hormonal fluctuations such vaginal secretions can change, but when they are accompanied by itching and pain, you should better seek for help.
No Age Limits
There is no certain age, in which clear jelly like discharge occurs more or less frequently. Your body works like a clock, but it has its own mechanism. Such discharges can’t be predicted and appear both in adults and teens.
Even if a girl is virginal, has no health issues and hasn’t placed anything in the vagina, she experiences discharges on a regular basis. In this case there is nothing to worry about. But when an experienced woman, who leads active sexual life and has several partners, has discharges, this becomes the reason to go to a doctor.
this is from a doctor website , it is nothing to worrie about , isnt not a std /sti or pregnancy , its nothign to be ashamed about it happends to every femal , its our body cleaning its self out , preparing us for if we were to start child bearing in the near future , hope this helps
I have a hard time believing that post is real. Even fanatic holy rollers don't talk like that. Looks like a baiting troll to me. Don't take the bait.
I get the SAME thing! except mine is more of a pinkish brown jelly and it has no smell. it's been going on for the past year or so and my doctor just keeps saying that it's old blood (sorry but i don't think it takes a whole damn month for old blood to come out) and ever since this discharge started, my periods have been all messed up AND I TAKE BIRTH CONTROL! at one point i went 4 months without a period and only got the jelly stuff. then i started having 2 periods a month and my doc isn't doing anything about it.
