I just wanted everyone to know that taking a benzo is poison. Some people say it's a life saver but try coming off this drug. Coming off Heroin is easier. I was on a low dose 5 mg of Valium for 5 years as a sleep aid and I went off of it cold turkey. I had HORRIBLE anxiety (and I never suffered from anxiety ever). I had about 70 symptoms and my hair has been shedding and breaking off for months. I found a great web site called benzobuddies.org and there is where I read all about stopping a benzo and hair loss. I'm now off a Benzo 8 months and feeling better but my hair is still shedding. Taking a Benzo effects your endocrine and HPA Axis and when you taper off of it it goes crazy and is unbalanced hence the hair loss. DO NOT TAKE THIS TERRIBLE POISON. Google the Ashton Manuel if you want to taper off. Doctors have NO idea about this c**p.

I was taking 150 mg of Effexor, 150 mg of Wellbutrin, and 1 mg of Klonopin for 14 1/2 years. All I wanted was a bit of help for a tiny bit of school exam anxiety.

Then psychiatrists, rapist George Pallotta and Olufunke Fajobi destroyed the piss out of my. entire life.

Yes, all psychiatric drugs cause baldness, hair discoloration, excessive body hair growth, violent, destructive behavior, inability to make any rational decisions, bladder and rectal problems, etc., etc., etc.

Hair will norrmally grow back after you stop taking the Klonopin or any of the antidepressants. Those drugs I believe rob you of biotin. Take biotin everyday until the hair grows back. Take about 3500milligrams no more than 5000 milligrams. Although I feel 3500 milligrams is plenty and you can even take half of that amount. When your hair has grown back stop the biotin or take maybe 1200 milligrams

These anti depressants rob the hair of biotin. Take about 3500 milligrams of biotin and the hair will stop coming out and will regrow. But you must stop taking the medication after the hair grows back you can stop taking the biotin or just take a little bit of it like about 1200 milligrams or so. Do not take more than 5000 milligrams of biotin. The regrowth starts right away

I just want to say agan that you must stop taking the medication right away. Then start the biotin and the hair will regrow. If you are tapering off the medication you can start the biotin at that time too

Not when you take it, its when you stop, withdrawal, shock to system. the hair falls. Takes a year or so it right itself. And guess what, you can't stay on it forever, it damages the brain and you can't keep increasing it because it becomes toxic, can't stay at the same level because brain changes it causes will have you tolerant. So do your research before you go off and you will have to go off.

Oh My we are not supposed to take it long term, I took for over 20 years and then my body rejected it and I had a long and painful withdrawal. Do your research before this happens to you, you can't increase the dose forever, you can't stay at the same mgs forever, this will happen, at least you can research it before it does, look up klonopin withdrawal and tolerance. If you choose to do nothing and take it, well that's on you now.

While hair loss could be an issue (I have noticed a little more in the shower than normal but i have think hair so it isn't an issue for me), I am very disappointed in the responses here calling klonopin "poison" and sharing their so called personal experiences to scare people that could be really help by it, I have been taking the same fairly low dose for three years with no major issues - I get blood work done bi-annually and have to say it has been a life saver for me.

It took 20 years for you to build a tolerance? Sounds odd to me. Usually tolerance starts within 3-6 months if it's going to happen, Do you have any other MH issues or using any other drugs?

It was actually originally made to help people with seizures who did have to take it "forever". No "brain damage" was ever clinically found by the FDA. It was only found later to be a great anti-anxiety drug. I think YOU need to do some research and stop trying to scare people.

Thank you,I've been casually taking it at night 2mg to help me sleep but it only relaxes me. However when sleep it's a good sleep. My insomnia is affecting my brain to, that's the problem. I've recently switched to nightly klonopin opposed to 2 or 3 nights week. One thing I hate is I eat at night. Klonopin doesn't make me hungry, I'm always hungry but it relaxes me to say go for it. I gained 30 pounds I lost. Not all klonopin fault, mostly mine. I worry to. When I first took it I noticed an immediate "drop" mentally but steadied out. It dropped me. Now I suffer with depression so that could be why. I believe it's poison though to BUT I am also in favor of drugs that aren't popular that help others. Doctors have gotten so conservative that some people actually benifit from certain political incorrect drugs. I'd rather live my life happy on a drug (that works) then suffer major depression my whole life and I'd love to find a doc that agrees. So far my doc is liberal thankfully so I can choose if klonopin is worth it. Sadly I don't only for emergency NO daily use. I agree with poster. It may decline your mind. Most drugs aren't good but some are more helpful than others. This one is ok for short term only!

I noticed that I am losing my hair and it started about the time that I began taking Klonopin. I just stopped taking it, hoping that the hair loss will stop. What did you find when you went off it? Is the hair loss permanent? Thanks, Penny
