Hidradenitis Suppurativa. Look it up. The mayo clinic has a very informitive article. (see also boils)
Basically, it's severe acne. (folliculitis). Bacteria in the oil ducts around hair folicles. (staphylococcus)
Warm compress, clean with antibacterial soap, antiseptic ointment. Perhaps a course of antibiotics.
Tham8397 thank you SO much for sharing the term Fordyce Spots. I have been searching for years as to what my skin problem is and I believe it is Fordyce Spots. After looking them up on the Internet and seeing the images people have posted of them, they look exactly like my skin. As a woman who is overweight and also has a sit down all day job, the area of my inner thighs and under my butt is filled with these little white bumps, along with some black heads (which are also caused by sebum blockage). It appears that these spots can get an infection in them and that is when they start looking like pimples with no head. I find that this is the time they can start hurting, and because they hurt I try to "pop" them. As soon as I do that, two things can happen... Either they go away or, most likely, they start to fill up with clear, sticky fluid. As I keep trying to drain the sticky fluid out (and there is a ton of it) they will fill back up until I am finally able to squeeze out the little wax like sebum core that is in there or until it turns in to a full on abrasion and ultimately an UGLY sore on my skin that scabs over and takes a while to heal.
Now knowing that there are products available over the counter that can assist me in getting rid of the sebum while they're still white bumps, so they don't go into infection leading to my poping and the horrible results. I know that I should not squeeze/pop anything but it becomes compulsive, one because it hurts and draining the clear fluid out helps relieve that pain and two, seeing how much clear fluid in there becomes interesting.... I know that's gross, I'm sorry, but I've been open about everything else...
Anyway, again, thank you. I'm sorry this response is so long but I hope that my sharing how Fordyce Spots affect me, how I think the large bumps with clear fluid start and that there are remedies out there over the counter all someone needs to do is Google Fordyce Spots will help a future reader of this link identify their afflictions as well. I was just lucky that after years of searching every time one of these large bumps would appear, I finally used the right combinations of search terms that lead me to the original poster on this thread because the symptoms were similar. And lucky enough that you shared your experience on that same post.
Have a good one! Thanks again!
What you have described much like another person who he miss informed calling this fordyce spots. Google images of them they are very small white bumps, so small you could probably not pop any.. You have likely got an ingrowning hair issue. You check with the doc though and dont let them get infected. That really sucks
My bumps would grow in the area when I would open my legs.I thought they were first boils. When to my dermatologist and was told they were cyst. She would remove them and they were tiny white little balls.Sent off and everything came back negative.
I was told a very young boy had over a 100 in the groin area.OMG I thought.I had only 3-4.I heard if you take some Apple Cider Vinegar put some in a cup with some warm water, you can use a cotton ball to cleanse around your groin area and wherever you feel you need to clean on all your male body parts.I really don't care about the smell.A good cool shower later will work for me.Good Luck Guys!
