My dog was diagnosed with Addison just the other day. Bloodwork doesn't always show any abnormalities if your dog has the non-standard form. My dog jusy passed from addisons shock over the weekend. From being happy plahing at the beach to dead in 48 hours.
He would be weak and lazy sometimes but then later the same day a normal puppy. We should have been more vigilant. :(
The vets had no idea what was wrong until he had a shock and dies of a heart attack. They kept thinking he just needed an IV and some rest.
I keep wondering if I insisted on blood work they may have caught it earlier and he could have lived. He was a pom-chi very small only 2kgs. I can't help wondering how quality his life would have been with the hormone treatment for such a little guy.
