Gerd can cause anxiety, light headedness, headaches, spacey feeling, shakiness, twitching, ear aches, plugged ears etc. The nerves in your throat get damaged and send false signals to your front sinuses and ears. The front sinuses will cause the light headed feeling. Your eyes rub against your front sinuses so when you look hard one way you will feel a little more light headed.

Don't eat 3-4 hours before bed and drink very little. Sleep with at least two pillows. Eat smaller meals and swallow smaller bites, watch out for crunchy foods. Take a ppi while you heal. It could take up to 1 year depending on how bad you are, it sounds like you are pretty bad. Drink a little aloe gel before bed, about 1 drink or gulp. It will take time. It is working for me but it is very slow healing because your esophagus gets damaged every day and then has to heal. You just have to get to where you heal more then damage. Your digestive system could be the root cause or it could be your les valve. Probiotcs also help a lot for digestion. Culterelle.

Alcohol turns to sugar. I take cinnamon capsules when I feel spacey it lowers blood sugar and it clears. Garlic capsules also clear my head. I am also on Armour thyroid low doses 60mg in am 30mg on pm. Vitamins C. E. D3 Multivitamin. Adrenal Complex. B Complex Magnesium Fish Oil. Hope this helps. Karen.

I'm telling you right now as hard as it is to believe acid reflux causes this. Nerves in your throat run the entire length of your body. The vagus nerve. When some of those get burnt so bad from reflux it sends false signals to your sinuses including the front sinus and ears. Pressure behind the eyes feeling is the front sinus. Literally all of the things mike mentioned are symptoms of acid reflux at an advanced stage. Think about it, when you get brain freeze from something cold. Where does it hurt? That gives you the connection right there.

Hi Kia,

I'm sorry to hear about your symptoms. I am wondering if it is a specific TV clip in particular that comes to you every time? The first time I ever had severe symptoms (that woke me up from a nap...my heart was racing, I felt totally confused and disoriented, and felt like I was dying) was after I had fallen asleep watching a show that was apparently emotionally triggering for me. Even though I didn't really realize it fully, I later understood that the content of the show had stirred anxiety and emotions that were buried pretty deep within me that I didn't fully (and still don't fully) comprehend, although I have a good idea as to what they relate to in my life (past and present). Just curious about your relationship to the excerpts from the program that come into your head. Sometimes when I feel spacey and weird like that, it's because I am dissociating a little bit; I think it's something my mind/body does to protect me from overwhelming thoughts/memories/emotions. Even though it feels really scary sometimes I trust that my mind/body will do its best to protect me. I'm not sure if any of this helps, and I realize we may be talking about 2 different things...but I just wanted to share my experience in case anything resonated with you!

wow... I have had the exact same feeling for 18 months. Ive tested for everything from allergies, lyme, mold, hormones, etc. It just dawned on me: I was pulling the skin on the back of my neck, then my constant head pressure seemed to go away, instantly.. I retried this 7 times, each time relieving my pressure yet returns when I stop. this makes me think this is nech related. I recall having numbess in my fingers about the time these symptoms started, attributing it to a pinch nerve. Have you made positive progress?

That's how I am. I smoked a couple times for the first time in 3 years. And I know this feeling isn't from that. I'm also going through a separation and my kids are high strung. I'm thinking I need a vacation or something....maybe sleep.

Try researching derealization or depersonalization

For everyone with these symptoms, consider atypical migraine, sometimes called silent migraine. There is no pain, but often dizziness or confusion, spaciness, forgetfulness, sometimes aura, sometimes nausea, and a whole host of other symptoms that can feel like panic disorder, MS, etc.

Another illness that can manifest with sypmtoms like those described in the forum is Lyme disease, especially chronic, untreated Lyme.

Lastly, look into food sensitivities or environmental allergies as a possibliltiy.

Be well, all

Have you ever notice when the flat screen TVs came about it made your eyes feel weird. When you first viewed the flat screen. A couple years ago the TV we use to watch the screen was much better to watch. Cell phone can effect your vision as well. So think about it your eyes, ear, nose are connected to your brain.slow down on watching TV and your cell phone
That might help.
