In early April last year I notice a large 1&1/2cm lump on the left side of my neck. I was not ill nor had I been ill, nor did I get ill. About a month later I noticed another lump below that near my collar bone. I went to my Dr but couldn't see my regular dr so saw someone else who said since it didn't hurt not to worry about it.
In October last year I went back to the dr's (again couldn't get in to my regular dr so saw someone else) as there were now glands up from the left right through to the right side of my neck. She said same thing "come back if they get bigger or start to hurt".
I recently got in to see my regular Dr about a sore throat & coughing and while I was there I mentioned the gland on the side had gotten bigger and that I had seen someone last year about it. He sent me straight for an Ultrasound. I had a sneak look and it says that the glands are enlarged in a chain but appear normal.
I continue to have problems with swallowing, breathing, coughing and the coughing is giving me raging headaches. I am unable to get another appointment with my dr for a month.
Appart from the glands being up and the problems that they cause, I do have other 'ailments' which are annoying and I don't know if they are related: Itching (which I scratch until the skin blisters or bruises), Tiredness (more physical than mental, my arms and legs feel heavy), night sweats and abdominal pain (sort of high up).
Has anyone heard of anything like this or can you suggest something to help?
Thankyou.

Hi you beter call hematology dotor for 2nd opinion your symptom look like (Lymphoma)
I was just diagnosed with a low producing lymph node and had/have some of the same symptoms. I hope that helps. Oh, and get a different doctor, I mean, you could go to a free clinic with less than a month wait.
You said that you scratch until the skin blisters or bruises. You also said that your glands are up.The reason why your glands are up could maybe be due to the scratching,as like you said you scrath till it blisters and theres broken skin.Glands are there to protect the body and fight infections and viruses. When you have an injury or broken skin your glands would most likely be up.Once there is broken skin bacteria can enter the skin, and could create infection in the blisters or wounds.Your glands could be up due to being close to a blister or broken skin...an infected area. Its sometimes hard to detect if it is on the head.Your glands are possibly fighting something off - there could be more to it than what I have written above. As a matter of fact it could be many things that causing it.Try to seek the advice of a Specialist and have tests done.
I really would talk to your doctor about being checked for Lymphoma. You have many of the symptoms I had when I found out that I had Lymphoma. I had a biopsy of one of my swollen lympnodes and was quickly diagnosed and treated. The biopsy was quick and painless. This is not something yo u really want to let go for long, the doctors gave you bad advise I think. Inquire with your family doctor about his thoughts on Lymphoma and about perhaps doing a biopsy. Best of luck to you.
WOW, I have almost the exact same symptoms!!! My lymph nodes started swelling about 6 months ago, and I have just had more and more added! I also have (what I was told is eczema) On my legs and the back of my scalp! My skin itches like crazy, and then sore type things and maybe some small bruise appear!!! What is this??? I am hoping my lymph nodes are only from some ginivitis that was acting up 6 months ago! Oh yah, and I have read and been told by doctors, that if lymph nodes are (softer) moveable, and TENDER that its most likely only an infection! If they are hard, immovable, and not tender to the touch then they may be cancerous! Hope you find out whats going on!!! Keep us up to date okay! :O)
