Made it almost one month - Have a little w/d feeling now and then, but so much better. What helps the most from giving in is not wanting to lose all of the ground I've covered so far and go back to square one. Reading success stories here helps so much also.

Hey US - made the one month milestone. I learned what PAWS is - omg! Used loperamide to get through it. Whatever works. At least I haven't slipped up once and if you knew me, you would never think I could do it.

I understand that no one can quit until they are ready, just like quitting smoking isn't even an option yet. You just hang in there and make time for wife and kids. There are so many ways to have fun with them that don't cost anything. Post anytime.

I need to keep updating here because when I have trouble spells, this forum is all I have for support. Hope you have a good holiday!

My goal was to make it to the new year and hopefully by then forget about that part of my life. I want to keep this journal going and report that I made it to Christmas and making it to new years will be a breeze. Honestly, even almost one month into it, I thought I'd relapse. Didn't give in, done, over! No more pills in my life. Never thought I would say that. Admittedly, I still need the loperamide. In my opinion that is the lesser of two evils. When I don't take it, all the symptoms hit me. When they do, it's not like it is at first and it's off and on. But still using the loperamide because I have to function for work. That will taper off naturally I assume. I did go through PAWS around one month. It's just like the first couple of days, full bore. My advice to anyone is treat it like you just quit and use whatever you did the first week. Get through it. It gets easier, much easier. Life is so much better and nice to not constantly think about how many pills, money, when I'm getting them. It was a ball and chain. I keep coming back to give support to anyone and to remind myself how I felt at first compared to now. What a difference almost two months makes! Never going back :)
