I had a kidney pull out in year 2000 since then my incision is open and draining. Stiches have come out through for 8 years. I had a fistula surgery in march last year and the doctor removed stiches and used dissolvable stiches and incision is open again and draining. My question is is there another treatment that is not surgery? Will it be open forever?
Disease conditions such as diabetes make tissue healing difficult or impossible. Yes, it does sound like your incision may be open forever. Surgery is the only effective treatment that I know of. It may be worthwhile, however, for you to go online from time to time to search for newly discovered treatment alternatives.
