This guy knows what he’s talking about. Its not the marijuana that makes people disregard their responsibilities and cause inhibits on normal activity, it’s their own mentality. I believe if one has a strong goal or desire then they will achieve it regardless of the smoke or not. It’s all about the person and the values they hold evident. The fact that marijuana f**ks up lives is merely a result of their own lack of control and a defective sense of what’s important to them. I smoke weed, a lot, and I just graduated high school (with a 3.5 gpa) clearly marijuana didn’t affect my studies and that’s because when it was time to work I did, because of my own values and sense of responsibility. All I wanted to do was graduate, so I did. All marijuana does is cause mild euphoria and make life a little bit more tolerable. Marijuana cures boredom, and gives people something to do for a while, even if you end up playing video games-which weed only enhances. Moderation and self-control people, that’s all one needs to smoke weed and be successful….and a good sense of what’s important to them, which in this time of war and regression should be the most important goal in life. What ever makes you happy should be what you want and what you stride for and all I want is good times, good friends and flame ass nuggets…and eventually a higher understanding of human behavior and to achieve enlightenment.
when i smoke weed, it actually MOTIVATES me to work out. I wait about 30 minutes, let my lungs clear out a little bit, then go hit the weights hard. i guess it just affects everyone differently. i can, say, however, smoking ANYTHING is bad for the lungs, but as for weightlifting, since I've been smoking heavily a year ago again senior year in college, I've lost 9% bodyfat...any correlation I cannot prove, just cut calories because of work, still had my every 2-3 hour meal/snack, then smoked weed. i'm smoking right now, actually, and about to go work out in 45 minutes. so there ya go.
i smoke everday and workout everyday. i love working out high, makes me more motivated to do the workouts and once i start i cant stop. and im in tip top shape.
and as of school, i go and i do my homework while high. 3.7 GPA, i'm off to college in sept. and i study everyday. =)
i do suffer from memory loss but i always remember it five mins into forgetting it :-D

I agree with the guy that quit at 22. Pot is a major distraction and if your at a point in time were you're trying to invest in self improvement, leave that sh*t alone. Don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of weed, but the experience looses it zest when you start abusing that sh*t.
If you where an occasional drinker and suddenly found that you had to be at the bar everyday, you'll soon notice that you've developed a dependent relationship with controlled substance. Next thing you know you'll be trying to convince yourself that if you go to work drunk you'll be able to think clearer.
All that working out while high sh*t just proves that your trying to make extra time for a habit.That my friend is drug abuse, and there's know f*****g way that sh*t complements getting in shape. If you wanna do drugs while working out, go buy some supplements.

The relaxing effects of smoking marijuana put your body in a Diabolic State (Losing muscle). When you lift, your body's goal is to be in a Anabolic State (Building Muscle).
I find that when I smoke, I seem to have a slightly stronger mind-body connection and can isolate the muscles I want more easily for any particular resistance exercise. For cardio, I do admit it can (depending on method of consumption) affect your VO2max. However, when using a vaporizer or edibles this effect is entirely diminished (IMO). I know a ton of guys with amazing physiques that toke every day. As someone stated above, it just depends on the person. As with any drug, including alcohol, it's a problem if you're doing it for the wrong reasons or if it's negatively affecting your life... but it's ignorant $hit like some of you are saying that gets it into people's minds that smoking weed turns you into a nothing couch potato. Sure, every drug affects the lives of some in a negative way, but guess what... millions of people, including many professional athletes I might add, use recreational drugs responsibly and never have an issue.

How bout that
I was able to lose 80lbs overall. Half of them were lost all while I was under the influence of marijuana. I think it all falls down to the person, ultimately, you are the one that decides the effects of marijuana in your personal life. Anyway, with that said, I do a lot of cardio and it never affects me, sure I could be faster but I'm already faster than the average so it's fine. I don't think it'll have anything negative against your workout, if anything, it probably keeps you more in tune and entertained. I know working out all the time can get a bit stagnant and monogamous... I used to smoke a bowl right before running and it was pretty great. I was able to feel more entertained while working out and did it more often which allowed me to be more consistent. About munchies, marijuana actually increases metabolism and that's why you get hungry, but if you're working out afterwards, it shouldn't matter. It mostly hits you if you're not doing anything and food is accessible. Idk, I think it all falls down to how you want to manage your recreational drug... Be smart!
Heyy there ive been smoking pot for almost thrree years now. I used to never smoke weed and i was a great athlete and played tons of sports. Now that ive started smoking weed daily i have still continud to play all of my sports. I dont think that smoking weed has really affected me much at all. I love to play basketball and tonight i had a game we won and i scored 20 points half hour before i left i smoke three nice bongs. I dunno if it was the weed or just me? I dunno i guess what im trying to say is weed may not affect you i go to the gym all the time high and i just keep going and going and going.
well i smoke weed and lift weights everyday................... and............... i mean everyday and it makes me feel looser than when i stretch so if your like me and like smoking and working out keep doin it (and if u buy enough and curve it jus right u wont b loosin any money matter of fact i make more money) lol.
hey..ive been lifting weights now for about 3 years, i believe that im in great shape but about 6 months ago i tried weed for the first time, im 18 now, i still go to the gym 4-5 times a week, but during the last few months i started smoking more, like 4 times a week or every other day...i would just like to know how will it affect my workouts in the long run...i personally feel great, love working out but i also like weed....i like the way it makes me feel after a hard day...in the words of my good friend Seth Rogen, it makes everything better...so just give me your thoughts.. im just worried about my work outs....
Hello mari-jane users! I am a wrestler, and have been competing for about 2 years. I am the best wrestler in my weight class, despite the fact that i smoke weed every day. Weed dosent cause any damage to my cardio, but it has partially stooped me from pursuing my dreams. Weed has a effect on you mentally more than anything. Because weed releases endorphins (the chemical in your brain that makes you happy) you find that you loose interest in the things that did make you happy. It's like your substituting weed for what ever made you happy before. Some people end up thinking that they need weed to MAKE themselves happy, but really they just need to keep doing the things they love. Never give up on your dreams.
