I was a daily smoker. Every morning, afternoon and night. Was going through some depression/anxiety issues and got put on 50mg zoloft and buspar. The first 5 days were fine combining the two, although I noticed I was smoking a bit less as each day passed. Come to last night and it's about 12 midnight, I smoke a blunt and as soon as I'm finished I get a crazy panic attack. Almost passed out walking to the bathroom and sat on the toilet sweating bullets (clothes on lol) for a good 5 minutes trying to calm myself down. I'm literally scared to smoke again. I've never had a panic attack before. And this is coming from a really experienced user of marijuana. I can see it being the Zoloft taking affect as my doctor told me it takes 1-2 weeks to come about working. I am definitely taking a break from smoking in the mean time. Be careful guys.

Zoloft helps anxiety disorder and panic disorder as well. So no mixing it with weed shouldn't be a problem.

I've been a pretty heavy smoker for a couple of years and just recently got put on Zoloft for depression. After two hits, I started sweating and my heart rate jumped up to 184 with my blood pressure about 130/100. I thought I was dying. It lasted for about 6 hours. Every person is different so just take caution when smoking while taking zoloft.

I take Zoloft and Lamictal and haven't had any adverse effects so far. The only thing I've noticed is I get way higher way quicker, but no paranoia or other things like those who have posted here.

I had the same reaction with smoking weed and taking Zoloft. I started freaking out, and I thought my boyfriend laced it with something! It was a terrible feeling! I have never been happier since I've stopped smoking. It completely interferes with Zoloft.

That was weed. That had nothing to do with the zoloft.

I have actually used marijuana with my Zoloft medication and it has no side affect at all I think I thought depends on the person honestly

It doesn't do anything. Infact the weed will help you relax at the end of the day and Zoloft will help you feel predictive during the day. The Zoloft should be taken as directed and the weed should be kept light such as half a bowl a day and you feel great.

Weed amplifies the affect of the Zoloft as is to take a larger dose and that can have a very negative affect. I recently studied the effects of Zoloft and other antidepressants you can have while smoking weed and one that stood out the most for me is the chance of having severe panic attacks. For a while I just thought my panic attacks while smoking weed was me just having mad highs or I was just not getting the high I'd usually have without medication but I stopped having them after I stopped taking Zoloft. Now this is my own personal experience, it isn't the case for everyone but if I were you I'd ease your way off of Zoloft if the harmful side effects of combining Zoloft and marijuana start to occur more frequently. DO NOT stop taking your proscribed medication cold turkey!!! That can lead to a lot of medical problems, especially if you are on a high dose or have other medication besides antidepressants.
