Weed amplifies the affect of the Zoloft as is to take a larger dose and that can have a very negative affect. I recently studied the effects of Zoloft and other antidepressants you can have while smoking weed and one that stood out the most for me is the chance of having severe panic attacks. For a while I just thought my panic attacks while smoking weed was me just having mad highs or I was just not getting the high I'd usually have without medication but I stopped having them after I stopped taking Zoloft. Now this is my own personal experience, it isn't the case for everyone but if I were you I'd ease your way off of Zoloft if the harmful side effects of combining Zoloft and marijuana start to occur more frequently. DO NOT stop taking your proscribed medication cold turkey!!! That can lead to a lot of medical problems, especially if you are on a high dose or have other medication besides antidepressants.

I've been on Zoloft for two years and started smoking marijuana about two months ago, at least 3 times a week. I've never had a bad experience or reaction.

I had the worst experience smoking weed on zoloft. Ive been on zoloft for 2 weeks at 25mg. Ive smoked on and off all my life but i smoked some weed the other night and it did not react well with zoloft at all. I felt like i was schizophrenic, i was hearing hyenas laughing in my head and a voice kept telling me to kill myself. I have never had anything like that ever happen to me before. my entire body felt paralyzed and i couldn't move and the voices kept going and going.

True to that. I will beleive the alcohol effect, because zoloft is an inhibitor while the alcohol produces it. But, as far as I know, cannabis is not a producer of seratonin.

You shouldn't necessarily promote Adderal to some one who is experiencing lethargy and drowsiness from Cannabis. It's a good medication for ADHD/ADD but has an extremely high abuse profile and one can become tolerant to therapeutic doses because it all releases at once in the brain, so a couple doses a day is needed... where as Vyvanse (lesdexamphetapine) releases roughly every hour in the brain from a single morning dose until roughly 6:00-8:00pm and produces a similar but more subtle and consistent effect than Adderal does. Vyvanse does have abuse potential, but it's fairly lower than that of Adderal. As for Zoloft, I was on it for a year a while back. It seemed to have the effect to slightly lower the anxiety that weed can cause that I sometimes get from smoking now that I'm off it.

I just started 25mg of zoloft and i'm a heavy regular smoker my doctor knows this as well because i live where it's legal but the medicine will spike or relieve the anxiety especially the first 3 weeks because your body will get used to it but most of the time the weed helps the whole serotonin process and i feel way more relaxed then if i was just on the zoloft. this is to each is own not recommended for everybody

I have to agree,I started smoking pot while on Zoloft and I thought I could go off it cold turkey and just smoke weed;didn't work out so well. Blacked out for 8 days and totally went nuts, thought everyone was against me and was in beast mode. If u want it to work right u have to quit, remember why we take it for and I'm sure your mental wellbeing is more important than a bag of pot.

That's because Zoloft doesn't work into your system in a week. If you did your research, you'd see it takes about a month to finally kick in. It's not smart to smoke while your body has just bed introduced to a new drug.
