Hello. I'm 35 year old male and just recently I was diagnosed with one very serious condition called pancreatitis.
I really don’t know a lot about possible causes but I can describe you my symptoms. It all started with pretty strong pain located in my abdomen. I immediately knew what was the problem. I drank a lot of alcohol and had pretty disturbed life with all bad eating habits. After my diagnosis is set- doctor prescribed me some medications an told me I should avoid any type of food or drinks that could provoke my pain. So, I would really like if someone could tell me more about proper meals for people diagnosed with pancreatitis, this serious and rather unpleasant condition!
My brother has been diagnosed with this condition about two years ago and now he’s felling great, but he followed really a proper diet very seriously. I don’t even need to tell you that you should avoid excessive alcohol use because you probably know that overuse of alcohol is the leading cause of chronic pancreatitis.
Smoking is also out of the question.
Now, about your eating habits. You should avoid high fats intake. A healthy diet includes fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, and lean protein. Of course that you can't avoid intake of fats 100% but you should primary avoid intake of saturated fats such as butter.
Wish you fast recovery!
Hi, may I ask where your abdominal pain is from the pancreatits?
