I have been experiencing foot pain, particularly in the heels for about a year now, ever since my periods stopped completely. I am 52 years old. This week, i had bio-identical hormone replacement pellets inserted and the foot pain has almost completely disappeared. I am also sleeping better at night. I'm hoping I will also see a reduction in the belly fat that has accumulated rapidly over the past 3 years. So glad I decided to stop "toughing it out" though!

Hi. Did you have blood work done to see if you were diabetic that's my concern is it diabetic related or is it hormonal menopause related. I'm praying that it's menopause related, I don't want to be a diabetic.

How are you doing now? I have many of the same symptoms with feet pain and swelling, wrist pain and swelling in my right knee. Started menopause about a year ago. Doctoring now, and physician says it doesn't have anything to do with menopause, but I am really doubting this...

I am 52 and am now on Hormone replacement therapy for 3 yrs of wrist pain (was off work for 6 mths!) and more recently foot pain. No one had an answer for my pain until I read sites like this online. I am taking 1/2 dosage patch. I realize for some the breast cancer risk is an issue but for me it's been a life saver. I used to race bikes, road and mountain, and worked out 6 days weekly but 3 yrs ago my hands went numb and then ached. I worked as physical therapist and worked for a year with painful wrists, bad idea, until I finally had to stop. No one knew what to do with me. I tried Nitrous creme (like that used by heart patients) on my wrists 24/7 and that helped but the main thing was I had to not use my hands for 6 mths and then slowly increase. Super difficult. I was very depressed for some time but the resting of the wrists helped. Now I think the whole thing started as a side effect of menopause. I had no night sweats or anything else but as the HRT is helping, I think that was it. My foot pain, which started around 2 mths ago , was what made me look into HRT. I could no longer swim or bike bc of my hands and giving up walking was just too much. It didn't make sense that even after not hiking for weeks, my feet would burn so much. Hope this helps someone.

When you had surgery did they give you an antibiotic? Cipro, Levaquin, Avelox there are others too. The class is called fluoroquinolones-Fluorine/fluoride was used during the plague and killed the rats but it wasnt the rats causing problem it was the fleas. Causes horrific problems with muscles, tendons and joints. These elements from drug hide in cells and you must take in magnesium to detox-you may have permanent damage. Iodine protects cells it hasnt gotten to yet.

So happy to know that this seemingly unrelated foot pain is indeed related. Im 55 and am in menopause. No period for 4 months.. but hot flashes terrible, nasty mood swings, and now the heel pain. Especially bad after laying down. Mornings are killer. Seems to be getting worse. At least im not alone.

I am 49 and I am going through menopause. My body can't tolerate HRT so I have been using various natural treatments. I am forcing myself to go through menopause as organically as I can. Eileen is a menopause expert and I find her to be very comforting. I have noticed that as my hormones fluctuate various parts of my body ache and sometimes the pain is unbearable. I have felt pain in my eyes, jaw, feet, knees, back, hands, and tongue. I have had extreme thirst, a racing heart (out of breath feeling), anxiety, extreme fatigue, extreme fluctuation with allergies, and a bunch of strange phobias that have developed ( crowded rooms, hot places, loud noises). These symptoms constantly change or are revisited because my hormones fluctuate so much. I never know what my body is going to be like when I wake up which causes another type of anxiety...health anxiety. I can't count on how I am going to be feeling anymore, so it is very difficult for me to make commitments. The foot and knee pain is terrible. Sometimes I can't walk and I have to sit down. I have bought so many different types of orthopedic shoes to help. Eventually the pain will go away, but then like I said, once one goes away, another one appears. So I am pretty much never without pain or discomfort. I will say this...it is getting better. I have been suffering for about two years and I can tell that my hormones are settling a bit. Why are there not more support groups and doctors for women who are going through this? Thank goodness for these discussions. If you are going through this, you CAN DO IT. It will get better. +
