I had an abortion about eight months ago, so I know what it looks like. I've been taking birth control pills since. I had sex about a month ago, and I've just gotten my period now.. It looks just like it did last September. Could this mean I was pregnant and had a miscarriage? Helpful answers only please.

Hi hon: I'm a little confused! Is this the 1st time you've had your period since the abortion? Also hon, if you have been on the pill since and had sex etc. the chances of you being pregnant are VERY slim. Even if the sex last month DID create a pregnancy, The embryo would be the size of a pencil eraser head - IF that!!! So I have a feeling that you have had a MAJOR clot with this period. How far along were you when you had an abortion? I can help you a bit more if you give me dates of your periods, sex etc. OK?

no I've been having it since.. I had it for two months straight starting in January. I have had sex once or twice a month since. I was two months and eight days along when I had my abortion. may 12, 26. June 2, 10, 16. are the dates of the times I had sex. my last period was may 12. thank you so much. Also, I had sex in January.. about two weeks before my 2 month long period. I forgot about that. could that be anything?

The January one is nothing! Because if it was, you would be about 20 - 24 weeks along and you would know that.

I REALLY doubt what you just experienced is a miscarriage hon! Being on the pill is 99% effective. And also you had a period in May and now even though its a bit later since your May one, the BC pill is usually too blame for wonky periods - or it can be the cure as well. When you have an abortion, miscarriage or birth, it can make your periods a bit wonky after. Thus your MAJOR period in January.

We get clots all the time, we can have a full day of bleeding in the middle of our cycle then never again. We can skip or be late, it has too do with so many variables - diet, hormones, STRESS, excessive exercise, even smoking and certain medications.

I am sure that you are probably really worried about becoming pregnant again. So you will be looking at everything and anything! It just like when someone Truly believes that they are pregnant, they can even make themselves have the same symptoms!!! Our bodies are VERY sensitive too outside forces. So I wouldn't worry anymore hon, Perhaps get your husband/boyfriend to wear a condom too. I am SO worried about STD's and the increase in them. If you have been with your partner for a long time that's one thing, if it's new then DEFINITELY. Like I tell other women/girls on here. IF your partner doesn't want too wear a condom, NO playtime then!!!! Your body, Your health, Your future. I hope this helps you hon. Good luck and health!

thank you. I was only worried because the tissue or whatever it was, was tannish in colour like it was last September. I am extremely fearful about getting pregnant again, because it was a majour disappointment to my parents. I'm 16. but you have allayed my fears for now, so many thanks to you.

Your welcome hon. When you were 10 - 12 weeks along, it would have been a small fetus. IF you had actually had a miscarriage now, it would have been more mucusy and VERY VERY small. So it was probably just tissue - old tissue is actually brown. You just hit it on the head about being worried, like I said honey, you will feel and see everything. Since you are young - NO MORE NO CONDOMS OK? Like I said this is your body and your health and your future. Condoms will virtually take away any chance of STD - which you can NEVER get rid of !! And it wil stop any chance of pregnancy - with the BCP and Condom! OK? Good luck hon!
