I have had a yeast infection before, but went to the doctor for it. now that I have one again, I don't have any insurance. I used monistat 1 for it this time. I am curious just how do I know its working? my pain and itching and swelling have decreased, but I am still having a lot of white clumpy discharge. I still feel that there is a problem down there, but it isn't crippling now. is that normal. and with the monistat one, (which I won't use again) there came a night of no sleep because it amplified everything by 100!!! itching and burning!!! so what is normal for a yeast infection when it is clearing up?

I'm there now. Was crying yesterday over mine. I am glad I found this site. I don't feel like such a big baby now. It's unbearable
You might have chlmydia thats not a yeast infection sympton. Go to the doctor!
A yeast infection is NOT bacterial. It is fungal infection. It cannot be treated with antibiotics. It must be treated with an antigungal and or antigungal ointments.
Wow, used this and ended up in the ER it was so bad last night. I thought my boyfriend.I had a steroid shot and Benadryl dose, but I still have intense burning. Guys, this stuff is oily and I cannot get it out. Usually, you remove yourself from whatever is causing the reaction if you have an allergy. I know it works for some, but it is way too common for people to be having these allergies. The point is that it is still in me and no amount of cleaning is getting that oily stuff out! A possible allergic reaction is one thing, but imagine having a continued one for days. This is just not worth the risk when there are so many better options out there such as oral meds and natural remedies. By the way, I have always used these before with zero side effects and it does a better job at killing the yeast. I can honestly say my ectopic pregnancy last year was not nearly as painful as this.
It sounds like u have vaginitis a bacterial infection u need to go to the dr.
LOL. the vaginal section:)
So I've use the monistat 1 on yesterday and once I used it about one hour later the itching intensified. To the point where it woke me up out my sleep I tried so hard not to scratch...finally I was able to sleep and when I woke up I felt so much better the itching has gone away but still a little sore from the scratching I did...
Yeast infections don't cause headache, back pain or nausea, STD's cause those things. Be careful because not treating an STD can cause infertility. Those are not symptoms of yeast infection at all, those are clear signs of an STD
FYI - The "1-Day" now comes with several cool wipes, too (4, I think).
It's old blood. You're probably about to come on your cycle. Sometimes there's blood left over from the month before and it comes out as a brown discharge.
I came down with an extreme yeast infection, discharge, skin irritation (cuts and all), burning and itching.  I tried neosporin for the cuts (helped with the pain, but dried the skin out), yogurt, vaseline, baby oil etc.  But when it only got worse I reached for the M1.  Yes it burned a bit, but tolerable, but it did relieve my symptoms almost within hours.  Of course it will take a few days to be free of most symptoms and probably a week to be completely healed, but its working.  Sorry to read all the negitive experiences, but I felt it was good to post a positive one.  As a back up I did contact my doctor for the one day pill, should my symptoms come back
it takes 3-7 days to fully work, if it lasts longer than that then the problem is probably worse and you need to see a dr. this is my 2nd time using it, and it's already begun helping me and it's only been about 30 minutes. also, use the anti itch cream and (I use an ice pack lol) it helps not to think about it.
What was the name of the pills?
no its not. its fungal
was prescribed Cyproflaxin ( for a UTI after having a terrible food poisoning E-coli I think, and gyn said to take Monistate 1 or 3 to prevent getting yeast infection but from reading all of this scared to use unless I get a yeast infection which I have never had either thing. You mention Monistat will not cure bacterial infection, that Is for the anti-biotic I am taking, that I am also feeling so sick from. Burping, gassy and still sick feeling though no more throwing up or diahrea. Don't want to add Monistat with possible new problems to all of this. Can I wait? If not when is it right time to take it?
