cut out milk products (even in trace amounts, things like jalapeno chips have whey so check the labels) for two weeks. then try wheat if that doesn't work. it's a pain in teh a** but it will solve the problem of whether or not it is an allergy.

at 17 is tarted expeirencing the same symptoms as you (also snot on poop). the doctors spent tons of my parents money, thought i had everything from ulcer to reproductive issues. someone mentioned cutting out wheat and dairy.

i now know i am allergic to cows. yes, cows. unlike lactose intolerant people i cannot eat beef and the pills for lactopse intolerance don't work. the doctors proabably never suspected this because i did not show symptoms of lactose intolerance.

best of luck...and, if it is an allergy after a few years you won't remember how delicious what your allergic to tasted like. it gets better.

I have a similar situation and would like to know what is going on. I have been experiencing wetness throughtout the day, yet when i wipe there is nothing there. Sometimes a smell occurs but there is no fecal matter pesent. After I wipe, the wetness returns until I must pass a bowel movement. My stool has gone from soft to hard and has resulted in smaller amounts each time. Currently there is mucus and sometimes blood. For this reason, I think it may be because of the food I've been eating lately. I'm a college male student that eats greasy foods regularly. However, since the wetness has not gone away yet and its approaching the second week, I am getting worried. Can someone help?

I have been ill since april of 2009. I went to work and just had an upset stomach so i thought. The next day i was breaking out in sweats and still having the stomach or bowel cramps. T tried to go to work and collapsed that day and havent been able to work since. I have lost 47 pounds and have been to numerous doctors for help. I was perfectly healthy before this. Me and my son had went to an exotic petting zoo was the only thing different i did that week 5 days prior to becoming ill. I had my gall bladder taken out in july cause they thought that would help cause the gall bladder was thickening. The problems continued. I have been in the hospital multiple times for dehydration. A GI specialist performed a flexsigmoid on me that revealed nothing and he did no biopsies. He did do a celiac panel at that time which revealed nothing. I was then misdiagnosed for lymes disease in october and treated with rocephin 1 gram IV at home for 6 weeks. I still did not get better and begginning to also have fleeting joint pain along with my stomach and bowel cramps with mucous in my stools. I did a couple of Ova and paraite tests that were negative supposedly. Then i was sent to a cardiologists cause my heart was tachycardic and ended up after a stress test they thought i possibly had frontal blockage which then the heart catherization proved healthy heart and i was told to go back to gi doctor and rhuematologist. Three months after the first celiac panel the rhuematologists ordered a nother celiac panel which showed celiac disease. I then told her i was negative for that 3 months prior, so she suggested i go back to the gi doctor that there maybe infection or parasitc infection that may not have cleared up. I went back to the gi doctor the last week of december to have colonoscopy and endoscopy performed. The biopsy from the colon revealed eoisophils and lymphocytes which could indicate colitis or parasitc infection, but no parasites were seen in the colon so they decided to treat me with prednisone which exacerbated the condition more. I have rashes all over my hands, face, neck, and have acne all over my back arms and face now which was no a problem prior to this whatever is in my body. I have been out of work for 10 months now over this and would like to find a doctor intrested in finding the parasite in my body. I have increased basophils and eoisophils in my blood work also. i feel like things are crawling in my rectum and my head. I also have severe headaches with tingling sensations in my head arms, fingers, feet, and toes. I would appreciate any help. Thia has been really pathetic i've been nursing for 10 years and cant get the proper treatment. I have done alot of research and know that even when you do a ova and parasite test maybe theres a 20% chance they will actually find the parasite. I personally think that my symptoms are all pointing to a parasitc infection. My son has also been having stomach problems since the petting zoo trip and they have tried a couple of meds on him that were unsuccessful. I have taken flagyl and Mebendazole a few times wihtout success. HHHHEEELLLPPP!!!!

I would also say possible Coeliac's disease. I wasn't diagnosed until I was 27, and until then had not really had any noticable symptoms. Coeliacs responds to the gluten in wheat, oats, barley etc. and I have found my body responds in much the same way as you have described. My symptoms ran in cycles, depending on what I ate, and are fully managed on a gluen free diet. I hope your problem is solved. Good Luck!

This thread is over three years old now and still active. This is amazing how many people have same or similar symptoms and yet doctors fail miserably do diagnose the problem and treat it properly. If we summarize everything has been posted here we have the following picture:
A person has cramps, diarrhea with blood and mucous. The previous history reveals one or several of the following: Food poisoning; Antibiotic treatment; Thyroid desease; Parasites infection; Stomach viral infections; Celliac desease (diagnosed or undiagnosed); Taking anti-acid medication (especially new generation medication).

All of these affect the intestinal flora. We all are living symbioses with our friendly intestinal flora. We simply cannot live without it. Just imagine, we have 2 to 4 kilos (4-10 lbs) of living mass of microorganisms in our guts! They completely cover our intestinal walls in a form of clear mucous. Unfortunately, western medical establishment "does not believe" in how important this fact is. It doesn't matter what caused the damage to your "simbiotic twin brother". The cure is to help restore the amount of these good bacteria and to supress overgtowth of bad bacteria and yeast. Unlike with antibiotics there is no quick solution. You have to go a long way of folowing a healthy diet and taking probiotics. There is plenty of information online about it.

I had in the past same problems and it took me long-long time by trials and errors to heal. Of course, first, rule out possible cases of acute gastro-intestinal infections, take strong antibiotics if necessary, these infections can be lethal. But after the infection is gone, steer towards the healthy diet and plenty of friendly bacteria. And I'm not talking about yogurt, this is not enough. You need to grow back these friendly bacteria and nurse them for the rest of your life if you want to be healthy. Change brands of probiotics from time to time to make sure you consume potent living cells in enough quantities.

Try a gluten-free diet for 2-4 weeks. If it helps with your symptoms then you're have gluten intolerance, which may or may not be shown in lab tests. It is not easy to follow this diet since practically every processd food has gluten in it. All restaurant food has it. It's everywhere, even in dairy products (except may be milk), sauces, seasoning, candies, beer, alcohol. Even rice or corn flour can be contaminated with gluten. The only way to eliminate gluten in your diet is to eat home-made food prepared from whole food: grains not containing gluten (rice, millet, buckwheat), unseasoned meat, eggs, vegetables, and fruit.

I wish you all good health.

I've had something very similiar happen to me. Thing is, I get this terrible cramping in my adominal area, feels like I have a gas build up and need to release, so I go to the bathroom and think maybe I need to have a bm, well..I sit there and without even pushing, my rectum starts dripping bright red blood, an alot at that. I can sit there for awhile till it subsides, but I never have a bm when this happens, just feels like I have to and then blood just drips out. I get like this off and on, I haven't gone to a doctor for it cause I don't have the money for it, but if it's serious, then I'll have no choice. I'm just curious as to what is wrong and why this keeps occurring.

I've unfortunately had problems like this since I was 16 and have gone to my doctor about it several times but they always act as if nothin is wrong.
I do have anxiety and am always stress out (I'm 21 now) and I am an excessive drinker, with vitamin deficiencies. Possibly, and more likely that not, these things are causes my problems.
I just had a week of BS stomach pains (which were just bothering me 10 minutes ago ... that's why I was looking over the internet.) and horrible diarrhea for aweek straight, all day long, every day every night every single morning. It's so uncomfortable. I just got married 4 months ago and it's steadily getting worse, and so embarrassing becuase the gas is ridiculous.

I'm 21 and wish that my doctors would take me seriously. One time, my doctor gave me an antibiotic for a cold but when I tookit it made me feel SO much better. I'm allergic to amoxicillian so the doctor had given me an antibiotic primarily for stomach problems. And it worked! So I just feel, it can't be just my anxiety, or drinking. I Think there is something else going on a parasitic level.

I think, after reading this. I'm gonna go back to the doctor and demand for some kind of test. Cause I can't live like this. I just got Tri Care through the army-  and the doctors are ridiculous. But I'm gonna try nonetheless.

Thank you everyone for the input and information.

I have read everyone's post because I too am experiencing the same symptoms. All tests come back normal, I breath a sigh of relief, and 1 to 2 months later it starts all over again. I am beginning to think, like the mom above that my stress affects me in this fashion. When I chart my attacks, I can usually find some stress factor at the same time. I also am starting to investigate food issues, such as glutton. Our food today is NOT as nature intended it! This past time I went 3 months with no attack, I drank a lot ate a lot of fresh organic fruit an low glutton, however I have had a very stressful time at work of late, fell off the diet and now have spent the last 3 days with symptoms. Check out ur anxiety levels girls!!

It may be a parastic infection that you are dealing with, research it some more online because that could be the cause of your problems....

That is what my doctor had said for 2 months and put me on xanax and lexapro. And eventually the pain became so bad that i had to do 3 stool sample.. The first two didn't show anything but the third one showed the worst case of C. Diff toxins that they had on record. This is because stool samples aren't very reliable. If you have experienced any of these things I would go to a GI or specialist just to be sure because I though it was stress at first too untilI ended up in the hospital :/
