Hi everybody,

as you all - I have the same problem. It started about 6 years ago when I was 14. I sing and that mucus disturbs it very, very much. It makes me so nervous.

I want to tell you about my experience with that thing. I have mucus in throat, nose, ears and possibly deeper. My condition is strictly related to what do I eat. The air changes it too. In some type of rooms (with the air conditioner I think) it's worst. Same afetr eating large amount of chocolate.

I've been diagnosed of having acid reflux (meds didnt't help) and releasing of the bile outside (sorry, I don't know how to describe it in English ;-)). Sometimes when I'm eating something, eg. chocolate, I immediately feel strange taste in my mouth, I think it's the bile.

When I eat something in the late evening, I wake up next day with large amount of mucus in mouth and I can spit it out. It's sometimes green or yellow, but usually clean white. What is strange, my agita-like feeling (now I'm not even sure if it's agita) which I have sometimes in the morning, goes away totally after spiting out that foo.

I'm became very nervous person because of that mucus. It's so annoying when it makes my voice dull (I'm stucked with that sticky foo).

So strange, because I'm a person who cares about health, but have poor physical condition. I'm weaker than my colleagues.

In my "carrier" of having that mucus, I've had about 4 or 5 super moments, almost without mucus. I've felt like God, my voice was so clean and using it was so comfortable (normal).

As I'm sitting here right now I feel something in my throat. Swallowing phlegm is very disturbing for me, everything is blocked - throat, ears.

I have no idea what to do now with it, tried almost everything - even acupuncture. Thought it's asthma, candida, nerves... so many ideas. Maybe should I try the liver cleaning curation now? Or check THS?

I was really fascinated with the post of Luda, about brain and CO2. It would be quite possible, because my breathing is very bad. My nerves make it very shallow. In the summer I tried to breath deeper, I did actually. Mucus didn't come away unfortunately, but it is some concept.

If anybody knows anything about that strange symptoms, maybe won it, please give US the answer.

Misery loves company-thanks you guys. I have allergies that I keep under control most of the time, but periodically and increasing a lot lately I will suddenly have this thick mucus with all the symptoms described previously. But sometimes when eating it feels like food gets hung in my chest and I can't swallow it-it is just stuck. I have to leave the table and try not to panic in private until it finally goes down. This only happens when I have been experiencing the thick mucus. I have situational asthma only once in 3 or 4 years, and the inhaler helps a little to get a good breathe. I will try dome of your suggestions.

wow i am glad to hear that other people have experienced what I am. I mean, relieved, not glad for you... I started getting a thicker mucus in my throat, and thicker saliva when I was pregnant also. I thought it would go away when I had the baby or when my braces came off, but its been almost a year since all of tht and it hasn't changed. It is very embarrassing. My boyfriend even commented on it a few times, although trying to be sensitive about it. I drink water to wash it down, but it still is there. Oddly, when i brush my teeth, it's worse! maybe the toothpaste I use, even though Ive used the same kind for years.. %-) can someone help me? my email is **** if anyone has any info about this..
-Thanks-

I have had the exact same symptoms that all of you have described. It has been interrupting my life for the past seven years. I have a runny nose and always coughing up mucus. I am always coughing in general. I don't know if anyone else has that problem but coughing and clearing my throat has become a huge part of my life and it is incredibly annoying. I have been to three different doctors, an have had several visits to allergists at different points of the year. I have also had three inhalers and two different types of nasal sprays and have used many different antihistamines. Can ANYONE help me? Does anyone have any answers at all?

I have similar problems. Particularly, one spot in my right throat is very sensitive. Whenever food though the spot while swallowing, large sticky white phlegm is generated (probably) around there, then block my throat. I lost a lot of weight. It is almost over a year for me to have this phlegm problem. I feel sometimes this is life-threatening. MucinexD helps a little.

Allergy test revealed that I'm allergic to all airborne allergens. Frequent sinus infection started about the same time, and severe post nasal drips. Before that, I have had chronic rhinitis, but never had the phlegm problem, sinus infection was very rare.

I've seen 3 different doctors. They didn't help me much yet. Recently, the endoscopy(?) examination on my throat seems to say that my throat is normal. But, I don't feel normal at all.

I have never posted b/4 now (anywhere). This I need to share. Ater reading most blogs I now know what to do and maybe help others. I hit menapause a few years back and let me tell you after all my research, harmone change causes a lot of this. I went to an ENT and he wanted to do alergy test b/c a previous hole in my eardrum had blown again. Found out my allergies and the the not so fun one was the clad....(mentioned in these blogs) its the mold we grow in outr stomachs and I am allergic to it. Had to be on strict body cleansing. No carbs ,,,,no sugar !! I got it all under control but still going thru harmone change and now know its my diet that causes this allergy reaction (mucus). It starts as soon as I lay down and when I get up. Sometimes during the night I am wakened by it. I dont even smoke and thats what I sound like. I am an older mom and still have 3 kids at home and they are embarrassed about it so I try to be discreet for it happens during the day at times. Up till about a year ago I was doing a little esercise routine (20 min) a day,,,,drinking about 6 glasses of water a day and staying away form sugar and carbs. I moved back in with my ex.....stopped taking care of myself...and drinking red wine again !! Its all back...in double. My advice go to a health food store and get the natural herbs mentioned in these blogs and watch your diet. You can heal yourself of this nasty stuff !!

I also have had a cough and phlegm for the past 5 months after a gastric virus and pneumonia. I have found that herbal relief completely natural throat spray gives some relief to the throat but am at a loss as to how to get rid of it. I find also some foods irritate it and start it off again and also strong perfumes or air conditioning. If anyone has any further answers to this I would appreciate it.

I have had this problem off an on for 5months. It never totally goes away but gets better at times.
I have been noting it down on a calender an its come to light it get worse when im on my period. But my prob is i bleed for 2 weeks every 2 weeks, because i have hormone problems.
It started 5months ago after going into hospital for a DnC an a IUD inserted.
In now wondering if its connected to this.
Weather it be the coil or a hormone increase. The coil produces a hormone all the time so when im bleeding i guess my hormones increase more an the mucus gets worse.

My other big problem is my voice. I keep losing my voice when its at its worse. My voice gets worse as the day goes on. I feel like i dont want to talk to rest it. Thats very hard when i work in a school.

I feel very tied by the end of the day. Its a big effert to keep talking

I found the solution to get rid of that constant mucus in throat and believe me I have tried all meds including antacid and anti allergy but the real problem is bacteria sitting down in your throat and your mouth being dry. I have tried THERABREATH products specially the oral rinse (patent formula) and also the nasal drops. You need to do it 3 times a day at the begining and magically the problem started going away. My saliva became liquid and my mouth was no longer dry. I guess the problem was also that. I also had constant bad breath. Thankkkkkkkk heaven I taught I was gonna live with that forever... I am not part of that forum but I know how ennoying this can be...Good luckk!!!!! Please try it and help others deal with it.

I always get this mucus in my throat and Its terrible.. In the mornings it some times makes me gag while I hack to get it out.. Some times nothing really comes out but others its clumps of hard mucus.. During the day I will start feeling it and it makes me a little nauseous because of the feeling of it.. I found that I get it more when I am dehydrated and when I drink lots of water it starts to go away.. I think its a sign of not drinking enough water basically dehydration. These symptoms started while I was pregnant and never really went away after having my child even thought doctors said it would.

I also have the same problem which started when I was pregnant. For the first 3 months, I was unable to eat or drink anything without it coming back up. I had a constant feeling there was something in my throat at all times. Finally, I was able to eat and drink again but as soon as I gave birth, it came back. Now I have had this problem for 3 years with no progress. I have been to my regular doctor many times, referred to an ENT, who put a scope down my nose to only tell me its acid reflux. Everyone is saying acid reflux or allergy. I have been on acid reducers for 10+ years and have tried allergy medicines to no avail. Also mucinex made it worse. Mine seems to get worse when the seasons change, where every morning I have to get up and expell the mucus immediately. There has to be some underlying cause for so many people to have the same problem. I am constantly clearing my throat all day and when i eat or drink it gets worse, just feels like whatever i put in mouth sits in my throat and doesnt go down.
