Please stop her cheese intake if it's very regular (kraft cheese in our case) and if it's not cheese and regular ice cream (cold stone strawberry flavor in my daughter 's case ) and see if that makes any difference because that's what helped my 4 yr old when she had the same adult odor problem. As soon as I stopped her kraft cheese and ice cream intake she stopped smelling bad in her armpits. It took a few weeks but it worked. She doesn't smell anymore even though she has ice cream sometimes and quesadillas very rarely. Plz try this. I hope this works for your daughter too.

My 6 year old daughters has had this problem now since she was 4 but now in 1st grade we feel bad and don't want her to be singled out by other kids if they get wind of it (excuse the pun).

I have a Chiropractor buddy who is also an herbalist, I will see his point of view. In the mean time, Baking Soda tryouts begin this morning.

I'll keep you updated with Chiro buddy.

Hi I also have twin daughters and only one of them is having a odor. She just started since maybe some months after her bday which is may 23. They are about to be six this year and it concerns me as to why she is having this problem. If you could give me some ways to solve this problem. I would surely appreciate it. I put babypowder under her arms it worked for a minute, but now it's pointless. She hasn't came to me about kids picking on her at school about it. But I don't want to wait around before they do start. She acts like a normal 5 yr old she just have a terrible armpit order. Please help

I have the same problem with my 6 years old daughter, but only after we moved to the philippines from canada. I guess weather wise, philippines is a tropical country more summer, less rain. I noticed the smell after she plays or dance. Even when shes just sitting watching, due to very hot weather she gets bathed 2-3 times a day. Until recently after reading an article about this concern, i started searching for a deo thats not anti perspirant. So i found Deo Nat. Its a mineral deo thats is aluminum chlorohydrate free and preservative free. And it really works very well. No smell from morning till night.

My son started to have under arm hair when he was almost 8. I took him to the pediatrician and he did some blood work but his hormone levels appeard slightly high but probably nothing to worry about. He referred him to a Ped Endocrinologist anyway to make sure. He got a bone age scan, had a very extensive blood test (lasted 3 hours), MRI of the brain (pituitary gland) and DID have precicious puberty. He rec'd monthly lupron injection the first year and got an implant (Supprellin) next, which lasted 1 1/2 years. He just turned 11 and is doing really well. They will remove the implant when he is 12 1/2. If your pediatrician does NOT refer your child to an endocrinologist, then you need to demand a referral so you can have peace of mind.

I have to give my daughter bleach baths (fill bathtiub half full and add 1/2 cup liquid bleach)twice a week for eczema. I have to do this to kill bacteria to keep the eczema at bay. smells typically come from bacteria, so I am wondering if this may help with kids with premature body odor. it will definitely help kill off the bacteria. A couple of times per week doing this with good cleansing routine on the other days might help with the situation.

My 6 year old has some smell under her arms after playing hard outside, so I make sure she baths good in addition to the bleach baths 2 times per week. I also made some powder out of cornstarch and added lavender which is also a natural approach to killing bacteria. I use cornstarch and lavender powder under the arm to keep her smelling fresh. I have also on occasion used vinegar on a washcloth to clean the underarm if soap does not do the trick. It works like a charm and the vinegar smell wears off quickly You can always make your own vinegar spray and mix it with water and lavender.

My daughter also has this issue and I don't know why either. She is healthy and showers regularly but can have odor just a few hours later if she is active. I will not allow her antiperspirant as she is too young and I believe the metals in them contribute to abnormal breast health. Not sure what to do either.

Just wanted to let you know that having elevated testosterone levels in a girl to me is not good. In Women who have issues with pre-diabetes or insulin resistance higher testosterone levels are also an issue. Not to say that your child has this issue, but it would be wise to look at your child's diet. Now a days with people having the horrible diets that we have diabetes is on the rise. Im no doctor but it could be your child's diet that might have excessive carbohydrates so the body is overcompensating with too much insulin, which in turn can result in elevated testosterone levels...which could be causing all these weird hormonal changes. Food Matters.

This same problem started with my 5 year old daughter last year. I took her to the pediatrician who sent us to a hormonal specialist. He checked her and she is not going through early puberty. Its just her body composition. I started giving her showers in the mornings, which has helped. And he recommended on days that she has sports or gym we use a gentle deodorant like Toms. It has helped drastically. Definitely take your child to a Dr, just to be on the safe side but if it turns out she is ok - these little steps helped us.
