I have a huge problem-my child's crying everyday when I go to work and I keep thinking on him all the day and I'm not even able to concentrate on my job. He is 2 years old and I thought he would stop crying after a while but this everyday crying lasts for longer than 2 week now. I have a woman that is babysitting him and she is a good one but he stills keep with this behavior. What do you think I should be doing?
Hello! I had the same problem and I don't remember anymore how I solved it I guess it has all fixed by itself. My daughter was crying everyday when I was going to work and this lasted for about a month and after that she was pretty much aware that I would get back. I have talked to her a lot and she was about your child's age now and it is true they can understand a lot if you make a "deal" with them like planning on how you two will spent the rest of the day when you get back from work, precise with him what stories you would read to him and I usually was "discussing" with my girl what dinner we are going to prepare when I get back. Finally this worked and now I am a happy mom whose daughter says her "hello" with a big kiss when I am at the door walking out of the house to go to work. You just need to be patient and don't get nervous too much over this for you will see everything would get back to normal in a while.
My son done the same thing when he started daycare. (I ) cried all the way TO daycare his first day. :'( After i dropped him off, I almost went back to get him. But i made myself go to work, (crying all the way.) I called and checked on him periodicly everyday for the first week. It didnt take him long to calm down after i left. He started daycare when he was 11 months old. He's now 3 yrs old and he still cries sometimes when he's dropped off. %-) But I know his daycare is an excellent daycare. And I believe daycares help to socialize children, especially young ones. I know of children who have cried for as long as a month, so it's hard to say how long it could last. Just stay strong and hang in there for as long as you can...........Good luck :-)
