After six months of us having sex with no birth control whatsoever, and me still getting my periods each month regularly I was convinced something was wrong with me. Unfortunately, that was not the case. All my tests showed I ovulate regularly and when my ob-gyn suggested that my husband has the sperm count done we still didn’t think things would turn out this bad. I’m 26, he’s 28 and his sperm count is almost zero. We had the test repeated twice, out of pure desperation. This was supposed to be my first child and I want it to be my husbands. It’s not that we’re against adoption but I don’t even imagine how we could afford it. He is going to see another urologist to check if there is any physical problem causing this and that is pretty much our last hope, but if that fails, I don’t know if we have any other option to have our own child?v

Hi guest,

Don't give up hope.  There are techniques that can be used to harvest sperm in some cases although it would usually be part of an in-vitro procedure.

Also, don't rule out donor sperm.

Good luck.
