15th Oct test should give a reliable result regarding possible pregnancy arising from sex on 14th Sep. But you need to test regarding possible pregnancy arising from sex 7 Oct. That testing needs to wait about three weeks to be certain of a reliable result. Because you cannot be sure when ovulation takes place, and sperm can live in a woman's body for up to 6 days, sperm arriving in your vagina on 7 Oct could fertilise an egg released 7-12 Oct. The later Ovulation Date of 12 Oct would suggest a period would be then due 26th Oct. So I would not rely on a negative test result before then, preferably a couple of days later. You have to allow enough time for any pregnancy-related hCG to be able to be picked up by a test. Of course, if you tested earlier and the result were to be positive, that result could be relied on. So the best time to test is 3 weeks after last sex.

should we rely also on the symptoms that i am experiencing right now?

You need to explain what you mean.

  1. What are the symptoms you are experiencing?
  2. Of what condition do you think they are symptoms?
  3. In what sense would you rely on them?
Reply
1. Back pain, nausea w/o vomiting, slight cramping, constipation, dizziness, raised on my temperature or sometimes i feel sick.
2. Symptoms of pregnancy
3. I mean even though my pt was negative should i consider this symptoms that i'm pregnant?

The symptoms are not solely of pregnancy.
The test, if it was a genuine product and was taken correctly, should have given a reliable result.
It is likely too early for implantation to have taken place, although it is possible. But even so, a test now would not likely pick up hCG levels.
However, if you are concerned, you could take another home test, or maybe have a blood test (picks up hCG earlier), but a negative result would not be adequate indication pregnancy would not follow your sex on 7 Oct.
How would considering yourself pregnant because of your 'symptoms' help you?

Hi am Queensley I missed my period for two weeks i had an pregnancy test but it went negative, after two weeks my period came back, I didn't take any contraceptive pills nor medications please I want to know why my period was delayed if there's any possibility that am pregnant

Hi Queensley.

A period is usually delayed because ovulation has been delayed. Pregnancy would usually prevent a period. A negative pregnancy test result is because there isn't enough hPT to indicate pregnancy. If ovulation were delayed, it could be that you tested too early. But you haven't given any critical dates or data.

  1. What date did you expect your period to start?
  2. What date did your last period start?
  3. Do you know the dates of your previous 5 period starts?
  4. What is your usual cycle length (typically 28 days)?
  5. What date have you had sex since your last period started?

You haven't given much information! There are several reasons why a period might not come:

  • Pregnancy
  • Stress
  • Illness
  • Excessive exercise
  • Weight
  • Hormonal imbalance
  • Change in schedule
  • Medication
  • Thyroid disorder
  • Breastfeeding

Hi ... I'm quite nervous my bf and I have sex on nov 4 and I forgot that it was my ovulation day.. we used pull out method he never cum actually But I'm afraid if he have some pre cum.. were not yet ready for pregnancy..
my previous cycle starts at oct 16 and ends on oct 21 but was it just a blood cloth and fewer blood liquid and on sept my cycle starts 16 end up on sept 19 same more cloth less blood liquid.. Pls help

If your period started Sept 16 and the subsequent period started Oct 16, that would give a cycle (period start to period start) of 30 days. If that were your usual cycle length, then it suggests your next period would be due to start on Nov 15 (Oct 16 + 30 days). That would indicate Ovulation Day (OD) was Nov 1 (not Nov 4).

You are right to be concerned about 'pre-cum', but Nov 4 seems unlikely to have been a fertile day if you have regular periods. How did you assess Nov 4 to be OD?

You talk about a 'blood cloth'. Did you mean a 'blood clot'? If so, in what way were those clots different from usual?

If you are not ready for pregnancy, why are you having sex, especially unprotected?

I hope this helps as a start

Actually.. on july my cycle is different it starts on july 9 end on july 13th.. on nxt month Aug 20 lasted on 24th.. the blood is normal flowing but on sept and october it seems different I got so much blood clot on my period and just a fewer blood liquid.. my bf and I haven't sex for almost 6 months and we had chances just on nov 4.. then after two days I've seen this article says on first day of cycle(mine) oct16 you start to count 14 days backwards its oct 4 so it say on nov 4 would be my OD..

If from Oct 16 you start to count 14 days backwards you get Oct 2, not Oct 4 But how do you then get to Nov 4?

Your cycle is not starting "july 9 end on july 13th" nor "Aug 20 lasted on 24th" Those are your periods. Your cycles are July 9th to Aug 19th, then Aug 20th to Sep 14th, and from Sep 15th to Oct 15th".

  • 9 Jul to 19 Aug = 42 days
  • 20 Aug to 14 Sep = 26 days
  • 15 Sep to 15 Oct = 31 days

That's an average of 33 days but a range of 26 to 42 days. Are you sure your dates are right? What are your earlier start-dates for this year?

  • 16 Oct + 33 days = 18 Nov (possible next period start)
  • 18 Nov - 14 days = 4 Nov (Possible OD)

But that is only working on averages (which is what apps work on). So there might be the possibility of pregnancy following sex on 4 Nov if there were sperm in his precum and OD were during 4-9 Nov. If this cycle is less than 33 days, then OD would be before 4 Nov.
