I'm going on 13 and i know some stuff about sex but every time i say something about sex with my mother she changes the subject or or looks at me like i have 3 heads, it is really getting to me because i can't be open with her like i am with other stuff, i feel as if i can't ask her about sex terms or like masturbation :$ and of course theres sex ed. in school but my school is one of those school's that only talk about STD and don't get in to much detail.
So if anyone has ANY advice, it is greatly appreciated :-D

Hi
I had the same problem with my mum when i was your age! but the best thing to do is to talk to her about how you
feel . . i basically said to my mum-would she rather tell me about these things or let me learn it from someone else i.e friends etc
you should be able to talk to your mum about anything. My mum lightened up after i spoke to her about how she was making me feel
and now we can talk about anything.
I think its good your school goes on about STD's . . my school was all about sex and looking back now it may have given people the wrong idea . . you still have to be careful and know the risks. as you're not yet 13 you have plenty of time to learn the other stuff, your school may start talking about other aspects as you get older? you could always be brave and ask them if content will change as you get older? dont listen to everything your friends may have to say on sex . . iv been there . . most of it is not true and many people will claim they are having sex when they're not. Its good to be interested in sex, its completely normal as your growing up but dont follow the crowd-you should never feel pressured to do what your friends claim they are doing!
