You clearly didn't read her full post. You just jumped right into "kids are hard to control". She stated that she has a 4 year old. If you live in a multi family dwelling it is your responsibility it insure your children are not a nuisance to your neighbors. I have 4 children & they are quite active. However, they understand "inside play" inside voices vs running around like little maniacs when outside. Plus Its dangerous to allow your kids to run inside. Common courtesy goes a very long way in apartments.

I agree it seems that in recent years parents are lowering the “good behaviour bar” significantly. We have a house next door that gets rented out constantly for months on end during holiday season. My solution to the recent parade of selfish parents is really loud music. The louder the kids the louder the music. I use a portable blue tooth speaker and direct it their way. I also text my other neighbours who are also suffering from this selfish behaviour to let me know if my music is too much. As the kids quieten the music does also. So far every parent has received the message loud and clear.
I am done with hearing my neighbour's kid screaming outside my home all day. I've bought an anti loitering noise frequency to play on my CD player outside. I deserve to enjoy my living area too. I pay to live here & part of that is to be able to have "peaceable enjoyment of my home". (As stipulated in my lease). I am not allowed to stand outside their living areas & scream all day or blow a trumpet! Lol. The mother knows her kid is annoying the other neighbours too & sits inside on her phone all day while her kid annoys everyone else. The CD frequency can't be heard by anyone over 25 so when I want peace & quiet, I'll be playing the CD. The CD was $20 online.

My neighbors hate my children, and I have asked the landlord countless times to allow me to break the lease so I can move to a single family home (better for my kids and the neighbors), but they will not allow it. My children are not welfare checks or whatever other people have written. I am educated in raising children (degree in developmental psychology before going to law school). I have two toddlers, and try extremely hard to get them to be quieter and tantrum less. I have made three doctors appointments over it, and the doctor merely states its normal for the age and that's that. I impose rules, do not enable them, but just ended up with high-energy high-maintenance kids. When my neighbors complain about the kids, I apologize but they refuse to accept my apologies and continue to complain. They called CPS on me (the landlord told me it was them after the landlord refused to call for them), and CPS left after 20 minutes inside and seeing my kids are in a perfect environment.
The parents feel bad also, but where are we supposed to live with children? No where?

Ok so I’m sorry I may not have kids (you can say all you want about me not understanding) but my neighbors kids constantly scream and kick the wall which is next to my bedroom wall not once have they apologized for the noise and I’ve talked to them. For all parents saying that kids will be kids think about it from your neighbors perspective teach your children to be considerate of others. A temper tantrum is one thing I get kids can get out of control then but if your children are screaming while playing indoors deal with it. If their outside that doesn’t bother me they can do what they want. I just don’t even hear effort from the parents next door trying to quiet their children it’s bottom line rude even if you can’t control your kid the least you could do is apologize to the neighbors they’re is no excuse for not doing that.
All kids need to be quiet inside and outside when there are neighbors that can hear them. Adults work very hard and want to sit out in their garden patio and relax without having to hear kids screaming. So even if they're outside they should be quiet. If there are neighbors that can hear them.
AMEN! I have neighbors with screaming children. I bet the parents can control that screaming in school, church, etc. If they cared about their neighbors, they would work to respect their right to peace and quiet also. The kids are always learning something and when allowed to invade on the peaceful life of neighbors, their parents are very selfish and incondiderate. The poor kids loose out in the end because they have not been taught boundaries. You don't have to have childrent to have common sense and know that you should not allow your children's undisciplined behavior interefe with other people's lives. If it were a dog or a stero, the parent would probalby be having a fit when many people hate the sound of screaming children more than anything. There is nothing more precious than a well behaved/mannered and and nothing more intrusive than a screaming baby or toddler.
I couldn't agree more with these comments - I've purchased 2 WiFi speakers for the sole purpose of being able to move them around my home freely to take into whichever room i'm in to drown out the noise from the little sh*. Note to parents: its YOU that chose to have the kids - its YOU that should have to put up with their racket - not the rest of us - so dont get all high and mighty when other people start voicing complaints - especially if you're claiming benefits that those of us that go to work pay for out of our taxes (and wouldnt mind a bit of peace and quiet after WE'VE had a hard day at work)

Yes lord!! At this very moment the new family across the streets children are outside screaming at the top of their lungs and I'm so close to walking outside and just walking up to the kid and screaming right back at him in his face I'm going crazy!!!
