Wow really .....your grandson is not a drug addict forever cause he was born on methadone ..that wasnt his fault.
Your wrong it has more to do with the effort given in raising them. Hyper activities is more likely to be passed down for ADHD from parents then caused from methadone.
My little guy is 4. He is very intelligent. Did u have a problem with anger issues if he doesn't get his way, he can be punished for something and in no time, does it again. We adopted him from birth and r older parents. We went through the withdrawls, of course...... Now I worry about behavior issues....We do let him get away with things, I guess because we r almost in grandparent mode. 1 of my daughters is always blaming it on addiction. So sometimes I worry, maybe it is......Did u have these issues?

Hi I'm 31/an I just was informed that I was born addicted to methadone.I spent time in the place of the hospital that babies are kept when they go in thru withdrawals. I believe I'm fine but I do have some bad habits.When I was growing up I kept a bad habit like blinking, sniffing, and a couple extra to embarrassing to discuss but not bad just annoying.I don't sleep well at night if im not high and my drug of choice is marijuana. I keeps me calm. Other than that I could be a real grouch, moody an kinda split personality. I tried to be sober an I feel depressed, an have low self esteem, anxiety. I have not had an expert diagnose me but this is just a self evaluation. I was not in special ed. I graduated on time. I can read write, rap and draw. If this addiction supposed to be so bad, not for me. I believe I'm damn near perfect just a normal human being. I do feel anxiety and depression but never suicidal.once again I'm 31 an I have lived a normal life. My mother was addicted to methadone an was using when she was pregnant with me.
He might not be a drug addict but scientist say that its practically in his genes if he turns out to be one....same goes for me. An I experiment with drugs an I never knew why until I started doing research to figure out why I am the way I am...normal human being but a lot of mental issues
Well I'm a parent of five and I don't know if u beat whip or punish ur child but maybe he just need a good butt whipping...lol. I don't think its because of Addiction u guys are just not up to speed for a four year old that's all no disrespect. I am a methadone born 31 year old man.This just seems normal for a four year old that's not getting a belt to his behind....every four year old from what I seen in 31/years acts just like what u described.
One more thing, you said he's very intelligent. I believe he knows your not able to keep up with him an u problem spoil him so of course he's gonna throw temper tantrums. Stop giving him what he wants..I know its illegal now to whip kids but y'all gotta do something. Y'all to old an he's gonna try an run over top of y'all. I hope y'all not taking this the wrong way. I mean no disrespect but I have five kids I'm 31. I hey are 7,8,11,14,15 an my oldest is the one who acts like what y'all described an he's not born addicted to anything. He's very sneaky an after I beat that butt he straightens up. But he goes an does something else to get in trouble. When he was about four I used to have to whip his hindpots a lot because he was just bad, that's all.

I'm looking for long term studies on these children. My grandson was born dependent. He has several health issues and I'm trying to find the cause so we can treat accordingly. He has what they call knock knees which is having an impact on his life daily. He can't run and play like the other kids do (he's 8). He has high cholesterol and triglycerides, is over weight (due to inability to move like the other kids do), has delayed reading, and now they (counselors, and school staff) are trying to convince me to medicate him due to ADD. Plus he has episodes of vomiting and loose stools, which his doctors have ignored for at least 5 years now. It's only been through persistence that they are finally looking into it. No child should have vomiting and loose stools 3-6 times a month. Any resources would be appreciated.
