Thank you so much for replying! This has caused me extreme anxiety also, for no reason I'll just have an anxiety attack and I don't feel like myself! I wasn't able to eat for 4 weeks then I was able to eat at night like you. After being on dexilant and carafate I got better for 2 weeks and now the last few days it's back again! I've had every test and then only thing they found was mild gastritis with bile reflux on my endoscopy prior to surgery. Did you have days when it went away and then came back? How long did that go on for? It's such a blessing to find people like you that have recovered! For now I'm so fearful!

Hi Peeps,
It's quite an adjustment for the body to have bile flowing steadily rather then just when the body needs it. My post-chole symptoms included diarrhea for a year...unresponsive to medication. But at the one year point, things stabilized. Good luck to you'all,
J

It has been a full year since I had my gallbladder removed. They never found any stones but HIDA scan showed functionality was 20%.

I have had a lot of issues with nausea, pale stools, mild upper and lower abdominal pain. I have been tested for everything. Found mild gastritis with endoscopy. Was thinking I was having issues with my bile duct like a leak or narrowing duct. Ultrasound found no indication nor did blood tests. Symptoms come and go. Some weeks are fine others are not so much. I am thinking that many on here actually have Sphinter of Oddi Disorder.

My main symptom is nausea. I don't really have any pain so I don't think sod would be the problem. I know I have bile refluxing into my stomach from a endoscopy prior to the surgery so my gi thinks that I still have this and it will take some time for my system to settle. I pray that is true. At 6 weeks post op I had 2 weeks nausea free and now it's back again at 8 weeks. The back and forth is the hardest mentally.

I completely understand. It has caused me to have a ton of social anxiety. I am constantly afraid to make plans or leave the house in fear that I will get super nauseated away from home. Just going to work can be a struggle some days. Are you on any heartburn pills? I have tried ranitidine, and omeprazole. Both of which seemed to be making my nausea worse so I discountinued. I have been on pantaprazole recently and it has been better at controlling the heartburn and seems to have improved the nausea. I find the nausea to be the worst in the morning and late at night. Usually by afternoon it is better.

I'm on dexilant and carafate. They took the nausea away for 2 weeks and now it's back for the last few days. I haven't had any problems with heartburn in a while, I did at first! I had bile in my stomach during an endoscopy causing gastritis. My dr believes this is my problem but it will settle with time. For now that is all I have to hold on to.

Would you be willing to talk to me through email? I would love to hear more details about how you recovered! I'm 29 with 2 young kids and I'm desperate to be normal again and not live with the constant nausea!! Any encouragement would be a blessing!

I am 5 days out of gall bladder removal surgery and feel awful. The nausea is almost unbearable since I came out of surgery! Barely eating and trying to manage the pain from surgery. So many people told me this would be a piece of cake. Makes me worry for the future reading all these posts.

Your symptoms are exactly what I'm going through now and I've had the same tests and was told the same thing. Please tell me that you're feeling better now.

31/2 weeks post gall bladder removal. the first 1 1/2 weeks i felt really great. now i too am feeling the nausea/reflux symptoms. Checked in with the Dr today and he said healing nicely but sometimes the motility (from the esophagus and along to the bowel) gets out of rhythm after the surgery. He suggested probiotics to rebuild the enzymes in the bowel and hopefully return to a regular rhythm.

I have the same exact symptoms as you. I had my gall bladder out 3 months ago. Doctors cant find anything wrong. Curious if you symptoms got better over time and what you did to feel better.

Thank you for your informations.
I removed my GB 8 months ago and I've been in and out of hospital for few times.
I still have nausea every day and is worse early in the morning. I have done many tests and they all came back normal. I had some good days and was fine for few months but unfortunately nausea feeling came back again and I can hardly eat. I only take acid reflux medication which is making me more sick. I'm frustrated. Does anyone had the same experience for this long? Will it ever end?? Your help is greatly appreciated.

Is the TCH still working for your nausea/anxiety? I had my gallbladder removed in July and am nauseous every morning. I have thought about exploring this avenue. Would love your opinion for it's help with nausea and anxiety. THANK YOU!
