This helps a lot. I think everyone has a problem with doctors downplaying this surgery. I know, personally, I was told that thus surgery had a quick recovery.

I had my GB removed 2 days ago. Have been very nauseated on and off since. Had a bout of bad runs this morning too. I was told by my doctor I could eat normally the day after surgery. Well....I ate but then this is what happened. The nausea is like before I had my GB removed-on and off. Is there a bile supplement that the doctors would recommend? I've read that this may help the side effects post op

I will be 2 years in July and I still battle nausea pretty much everyday. I haven't the slightest clue what to do. I tend to think maybe it's my anxiety causing it but I don't know. I don't take any medication other than BC and then a couple of supplements like a probiotic and magnesium but I can't find relief and I guess I don't want to go to a doctor to rack up all these bills to be told "everything is normal, don't know what to tell you to do"

It’s been 7 months since I had my gallbladder removed. The nausea has gotten worse as time has gone by. That’s the one major symptom I had before it was taken out. I’ve lost 45 pounds. There doesn’t seem to be an end in sight. I’ve seen two gastro doctors, my GP and an internist. They’ve prescribed tons of pills, PPIs, anti nausea and one that speeds stomach emptying. I’m still horribly nauseous :(

I have had nausea every day since my gallbladder removal. The Dr. put me on Zofran and it hasn't helped at all. I have lost 24 lbs in 4 weeks. Just can't eat. I am miserable. How long will this last?

It’s now been 8 months since GB removal. Still horrible nausea. Endoscopy showed no problems. I’m taking three medicines that are supposed to stop nausea. I’m scheduled for an mri in six days.

I just found this forum, while looking for my own answers. I had my gallbladder removed on December 12th because of constant pain and vomiting. I had several complications and developed an infection (some drs say from surgery, others said not related) that kept the symptoms persistent. Late January I started feeling better until just 5 days ago I had the same symptoms again, extreme pain in my upper abdomen and vomiting. Everytime I've gone to the dr, they say these symptoms are from something caused by smoking pot but treatments for that never help. Most medicine wont help. I'm also getting extremely depressed because I don't want to feel this pain and nausea is literally the worst feeling too. Has anybody found that 6+ months you actually DO feel better? I'm losing my faith in doctors considering I've seen 11 different ones and they dont know why I'm still sick..

Did it ever get any better. I am having exactly what you are describing. The whole reason it was removed was due to nausea.

My husband had GB removed a week ago. Nausea hits him at night & remains in the morning. No one warned us that this could happen. He's suffering more from the nausea than any post op pain. We too are looking for answers!
