My husband was given neosynephrine instead of phenergan. He is now experiencing migraines. He has never had migraines or headaches in the past.
Neosynepherine is used to constrict vessels, and as with patients in the ICU, this will bring their BP up. Headaches are often caused by constriction of the vessels supplying oxygen to the brain and head. Notably when you have decreased intravascular volume (dehydrated), you will have a headache, this may also occur after inebriation (drunkeness) as well.

So neo instead of phenergan, the pharmacy really goofed on that one, or the ding dong nurse, whichever. Sounds like a liability claim especially if the headaches continue after a few days of stopping.
