Ibogaine worked for me and 7 others I saw go through it with me. It's about as habit forming as eating soap, so there is little to no risk of addiction. Risk of health can be minimized by going to a facility that do blood/liver panel tests and ECG/EKG prior to administration. User should switch to a short acting opiate for several weeks to months prior if on Methadone/Suboxone and be completely honest of all current medications & supplements. I switched to pods 6 weeks prior from 4mg Subs. It took away 95% withdrawal symptoms in others, it left me with restless legs for 2 days and no sleep for 3 but after I was fine. Some facilities will administer booster doses if withdrawal symptoms last, my place did not unfortunately. What ibogaine also excels at is minimizing PAWS - cravings, depression, and anxiety for a month or longer after the flood dose. I had low energy on and off for about a month after, but it improved with exercise, activities, and vitamins. Relapses on opiods normally occur after the first month so it's vital to get into new healthy habits and setting during that window.

I encourage everyone to continue researching because it does in fact work as an addiction interupter. I never tried mega dosing vitamin c but would if I had to go through withdrawal again. I'm glad to hear its worked as well!

Hi :) what would you tell someone that says megadoses, up to 2800mg only lessen the symptoms of opioid withdrawal. I just need a quick answer and of you have a reference that would be great. Someone is trying to have my friend start kratom. I am trying to tell her about alternatives that she won't just get dependent on. I've read a lot of bad things.
Thank you

Hi all.
Firstly, I still cannot believe that the internet didn’t blow up about that research article and cannot believe that this comment is going to be the first comment online of someone trying probenicid after 1 year ago it was announced that it can prevent withdrawals from opioids. Probenicid, a drug that is cheap. Has been used for 50 years for gout and is very safe. I still cannot believe that with millions of people addicted and people dying every day and as Donald trump puts it. The opioid epidemic is the biggest health disaster ever. And a harmless drug that could solve the problem of withdrawel and save lives all over the world. 1 year later I am the first to try it and comment online. That is just crazy.

But anyway. The study confirmed that it blocks pannex 1 in the immune system from releasing ATP and causing withdrawel. So I believe it will work but I am sorry to say my initial attempt failed. I tested probenicid for acute withdrawel from 400mg oxy/day - cold turkey. I obviously had to guess the dosage. Because despite probenicid being used for 50 years for gout. And despite its well known ability to block pannex1. Blocking pannex1 (blocking withdrawel) has not been a method for which the drug was prescribed and therefor there is no dosage or explanation of how it blocks pannex1, how long it takes etc. And for someone taking probenicid for gout or to increase the serum levels of antibiotics, there is no mention and they have absolutely no idea that the drug also has the ability to block pannex1 in the immune system and therefor blocking withdrawel.

So the 2 dosage methods I could see are. ( Probenicid comes in 500mg tablets).
For gout. 250mg twice a day for 1 week. Then increase to 500mg twice day. And using probenicid for increasing the potency of antibiotics it was 1,000mg twice a day.

It is 10pm. 8 hours after having my normal level of oxy. Withdrawels have started and I can feel the constant hot/cold. I could make it through the night by sleeping an hour/ then awake for an uncomfortable hour/ sleep for an hour.. repeating All the way til morning.. then off to docs for more meds.

But instead I decide to try probenicid to see if I can ease the withdrawel and continue and hopefully complete the detox. So I take half a tab. 250mg. 11:30pm no difference, actually feeling a bit worse). So I try and take more. Another 250mg. Midnight. Start to feel - queezy. But I want to see if probenicid will start to work so I take another 250mg. 20 min later I throw up in my bed. My withdrawel is even worse. I throw up a number of times By morning am too sick to go to doctor. At this point i am pretty sure the probenicid had induced further withdrawel. I spend the day and night really sick, sleeping 30 min at a time. Until I managed to get to docs the following morning and resume oxy.

So I think at the oxy dose I was taking and for immediate easing of withdrawel it failed and actually increased my withdrawel.
For probenicid to work it needs to block pannex 1 and without knowing the process ‘ dosage and timeline. I was just guessing.

I know a number of these drugs. Like blood pressure meds take time to build up in the systems so instead of trying to treat acute withdrawel in 30 minutes.. I am going to take probenicid for a few weeks and see if I can use it to prevent the withdrawel rather than trying to treat an acute form of withdrawel.

So, I still believe it will work. I have done a lot of reading online and at the very least, going into withdrawel creates a long term effect. PAWS “post acute withdrawel” which lasts months after the acute withdrawel. At the very least I believe it will stop the long term paws and speed recovery. For now, I am taking regular probenicid to establish decent thereputic levels and then I will try again and see if it makes a difference and prevents any of the withdrawel. I will let you know my findings.

All the best.

I'm curious on how your recovery using VIT C went? It's been a year and when you wrote last u were only 3 days clean. I'm hoping all went well. I've been on methadone for 12 years and need to get off. Methadone takes alot longer to get out of your system and major withdrawals don't start until day 5 to 7 and you don't start feeling somewhat okay until at least a 45 to 60. If you get a moment please write back and let me know how it went, I'm hoping everything turned out great for you and I'd like to no step by step how it went. God Bless!

I read your story on trying to take probenecid for withdrawal and I hope it works for you. If you don't mind please get back with me and let me know how it went. I'm on methadone. I hope this works for you and I hope you have a good news for us. FYI.... through my research I have found that mass doses of Vitamin C does help a lot with withdrawal and I'm still in the process of researching this so if anyone is reading my post and are trying to get off of opiates and or methadone please look into Vitamin C. ***this post is edited by moderator *** *** posting of private information such as name, phone number or email address is not allowed in order to protect your privacy*** Please read our Terms of Use

RaceLetvid.....listen!!!!!!! Please listen to this as I feel for you and your situation. First off do not be frightened, I know this sounds flippant but thank god for vit c( not ascorbic acid but sodium ascorbate, 3lbs from amazon, brand " NOW" 1 tablespoon is = to 16,000mg's or 16 grams. You need to load for 2-3 days of at 6 doses a day 2,500mg'sx6 day1.....then 5,000mg'sx6 a day day 2 and day three 8,000mg's x 6 on day three and day four stop your opiates and just take vit c every 2 hours until symptoms abate. then depending on if it's methadone pills, or heroin take the vit c for a month at 10 grams a day.
