My daughter was given ondansetron for severe morning/all day sickness, very expensive but works where Maxalon didn't, she was told it's a drug given to children having chemotherapy for nausea, it is easing so hopefully will cease, she needs to work to pay for the pills-$20 for 4 tablets in Australia. good luck

Hello, This is my 3rd and most severe case of morning sickness. My 1st pregnancy was filled with lots of nausea and only a few times I had to vomit ended by the 2nd tri. With the 2nd I was never really nauseated but threw up a lot. I was extremely hyper sensitive to smells. Neither pregnancy did I need to take a medication. Which leads me to this current pregnancy my 3rd. Pretty much after conception the nausea started but around 6-7 weeks is when morning sickness at its worst hit me like a ton of bricks. Constant nausea 24/7 non stop - Vomiting numerous times a day which lead me to the point of feeling so terrible all I had energy left for was driving myself to the ER. They gave me Zofran through IV and started to feel a big difference. Once home I was prescribed Zofran which is Ondansetron which has felt like at times it has helped but at times not so much. I took a 4 day break from the medication and I immediately started to get 24/7 nausea and shortly after started vomiting all over again. After 4 days each day progressively getting worse I decided I had 2 options - Try the medication again or go to the ER and prob. be admitted.  I have decided to try the medication once more and I quickly find 90 percent relief. This medication gives me very bad headaches and   causes dizziness and drowsiness but so far I am optimistic. I certainly do not want to be hospitalized so I am giving it another try. Best of luck to all. Considering that my 2 prior pregnancies were not this bad I am certainly confident that this bundle of joy is the last edition :) I feel for every woman going through a severe case as I am certain I am experiencing a very bad case.

This is my second pregnancy. My first was completely unbearable, I don't know how I managed to get through it. This second time around I started off ok but of course the morning sickness came with a vengance. This time is different because I have a 6 year old so I am not able to be the bum I was the first time around. I even contimplated termination because I was already worn out and feeling awful. My doctor prescribed Ondansetron and it is a miracle. I feel great & even the smells of everyday life doesn't send me to the nearest trash can. It gave me my appetite partially back & I haven't thrown up once since on it. Some days are better than others because occasionally I feel extra weak and tired but that is nothing compared to what I could be going through if I never discovered this drug. It is a comfort knowing that other people used this drug and have healthy children.

I am 9 weeks pregnant and for the last two weeks I have kept barely anything down. It is so bad that in one week I lost 15lbs. I've tried Ginger ( which is a digestive helper which gave me diarrhea which kick-started me throwing up again). I've done the Sea-bands on your wrists with no help there. I've tried peppermint, Dramamine and the nausea chewable pills...(yuck). I went to my dr and he wonderfully prescribed me Ondansetron! Three pills in and I felt amazing! Until I saw a commercial for a lawsuit for ZOFRAN and my heart sank... Heart and kidney damage as well as a cleft lips and palate. I am just wondering has anyone on here heard this or have personal experience with this AFTER your baby was born?!? Help

I had severe hyperemesis with my first pregnancy until 6 months and have it again now. The doctor prescribed me cyclizine and another drug which didn't help at all. Ive now been given ondansetron and it seems to be working. I still feel sick but haven't actually throw up since I've been taking it. But see you doctor as you may need a hospitalisation and a drip to get your fluids up if you're very dehydrated.
