Thank you for posting this! It's more than what I've been given from my doctor so it's nice to know that there is a medical interpretation of what's happening. Shame about the no cure bit though but feels good to have a grasp of what's going on. I wish you all the luck in managing it and I hope we all find something to help with this.

I was in the same Shoes you guys are in. I was bleeding nom stop for over a year and a half. They were huge blood clots and I wore a pad everyday and changed them several times a day. I'm on the heavier side, so I thought it was a weight issue. I started eating healthy foods but there wasn't much of a difference. But then one day I had a cup of Ocean Spray Cranberry Juice in the morning, and I didn't bleed that they so from then on I drink one to two glass cups of cranberry juice. Please don't knock it till you've tried it, you have nothing to lose but gain.

I am so glad to have found you guys (not glad for what you're going through. Just glad to not be alone). I am 29 almost 30 now, but this started when I was 26. I've never been given any answers. About a year ago the dr started giving me I days worth of strong hormones that would make my period stop for a month or so, but it always comes back with a vengeance. I have never been able to get pregnant, and this tears me apart. My husband and I adopted our daughter 6 years ago and have had her since the very day she was born, but she is such a lonely only child, and she wants siblings so badly. I'm just so afraid that not being able to give her siblings will cause her to want to start a relationship with her biological family. Idk. The bleeding is terrible. I can't live a normal life. I don't mean to give tmi, but the bleeding us very heavy and has very large clots. At one point, I was bleeding for 2 years straight like this until last year when the dr 1st prescribed the 7 days of hormones. He said it would kick start my cycle to regulate itself. We have now done tbe 7 day process 3 times, and each time my period stops for one or 2 months and starts right back up. So for almost 4 years now, I have only been off of my period for a total of about 6 months. I don't know what to do. When it 1st started, at about the year mark, I went to the ER (no insurance, couldn't go to the dr), and the ER dr had an intra vaginal sonogram done and did a pelvic as well as took blood, but they said there was nothing abnormal. I don't know what to do. I've tried to think of anything that could cause it. I thought maybe a drug called lyrica that im on could maybe cause it, but every dr says no, and I've found very little online. The timing kind of matches up a little. I've thought to just stop taking it and see, but I'm on it for severe depression and anxiety, and it isnt a narcotic, but is still very very hard to stop taking. Idk...I just don't know what to do. I cannot even stand to see a pregnant woman anymore because it hurts so bad and gives me instant crying stomach feeling. I just know that my time is running out.

Of course the endo would have something to do with it!!! That diseas is evil and you should have it removed ASAP. I was diagnosed with it at 22 along with pcos. Had the endo removed and was pain free up until now. and for the last 7 years, my life has been turned upside down. Current been bleeding non stop for 4 years! Such a joy being a female.

Have you had the HVP shot? And if so how old were you? This has happened to me as well, but I've had the shot and it stopped for a month, then started spotting and then it stopped for 3 months and then when I went to get the second shot same thing happened again except 3 years, then after 3 years, it came back with a vengeance for a year. I went to get the third shot this year and it stopped for a month and came back. I personally, think it has something do with it. I have done some research and its happened to some girls. Also they have (like myself) went to the doctors and have had Pap smears, bc and others done and it still won't stop. All my docs said that nothing is wrong with me. So I don't know.

I have been bleeding for a year and a half. I have had ultrasounds and tests all come back normal. I don't have insurance so i cant really do to much about it but i have done some research and have talked to people in simular circumstances and i believe that it is a hormonal problem related to ovary disfunction. Pcos, or poly cystic ovarian syndrome, is when you are estrogen dominant and have very little to no production of progesterone, which is a hormone the ovaries secrete when you aren't on your period. So if your not secreting progesterone then theres no signal to your body to stop bleeding because the large amount of estrogen in your body is telling you to "have your period" or keep bleeding. It is also related to your insulin and blood sugar, which is also hormonal. Metforin, i believe its called, is a drug that gets perscribed to people who are diabetic and it helps regulate insulin and has had a lot of success in helping people who are sufferers of pcos. There are a lot of symptoms of pcos, and you don't necessarily have to have the cysts on your ovaries that are commonly associated with this condition. Its has more to do with homones the ovaries a secrete and if they are communicating properly. Regular doctors and gynecologists aren't always familiar with hormonal imbalances and you are likely to have better success if you are able to find doctors who specialize in fertility and pcos. A reproductive endocrinologist is your best bet. I hope this helps.

Hi, I am currently 24 years old, but went through a very similar situation as your daughter when I was 9 years old. I had my period for over 3 years straight, extremely heavy and scary. I went to a pediatric OBGYN in Boston and was diagnosed with endometriosis. I had a laparoscopy done when I was 12 and was put on continuous birth control. It took a long time to find the right pill that would stop the bleeding, but eventually it did. I have not had my period since I was 12 and live a normal life. I was told I would be able to have children because of the surgery. Unfortunately I have found out that I now have a completely different mass in my uterus and it's looking like I will not be able to carry children. This is not meant to scare you but rather to provide more info. I really do believe that I'm lucky to live in the Boston area because we have a lot more resources for these issues.

It's been almost a year since I've been spotting. Not heavy just light. I'm not sure if I'm ovulating but it started in the last twenty pounds I gained. I'm currently 5'4 and 285. Sometimes I bleed heavier and I assume that's a period. It's completely screwed my sex life. I feel uncomfortable and yucky. My guy doesn't care but I freak out cuz I'm afriad he's gonna get a blood clot on his Wang. And sex drive? Forget it. I want a baby so bad. I have a nine year old. But I just want one more. I just want to experience the miracle one more time. I'm 32 and to old already I feel to have kids. I'm trying to lose weight. I do have HPV but I use condoms and it's dormat and under control atm.
Today I started having heavy cramps which was abnormal even when I had regular periods. I thought I'm either prego or I'm about to dump a bunch of blood. Sure enough for about two hours I bled super heavy. 24 hrs later the bleeding is back to spotting but I'm still super crampy. I'm not sure if it's a shitty period or I'm having a miscarriage. I'm just so frustrated and I want my life back!!!!

Daisy again, After years of going through this bad situation. I'm actually pretty normal with my period now. Has anyone else tried and had look with the tablets I suggested? They DO work for me and I've been off them for a while now. Last month I was two weeks late for my period but I got it as normal, lasted 7 days as normal.

I've used what you suggested and have been normal for the last 19 months :) Thanks for your suggestion!!

I'm so glad! Are you still taking them or off them? I think I used them for a few months and so far it's been good. They are still a little out of wack but no longer waiting months for one, or being on my period for months. I'm glad its helped someone else ^^

I took them for about 1 month and I've been normal for the first time ever in 32 years :-)

I'm 23, and I've been dealing with this too for a year and nine months. I've been bleeding since September 2015. The clots are smaller now, but they're still big, and pass several times a day. The bleeding has made me anemic and I take iron supplements. The iron does keep me from fainting, but I'm still exhausted all the time, my back hurts, and my "insides" feel raw from all the bleeding. Don't even get me started on the cramps.

For me, the blood dam opens when I eat meat, dairy, and processed foods and it goes on until it's completely out of my system, the heavy clots that is. I also started bleeding like this after my weight balloned. All this menstrual irregularity started after my mom passed. The greif wrecked havoc on my hormones, which wrecked my body. Didn't even know that could happened. At first my period stopped entirely for two years, and now it's back and has never stopped.

I'm getting so tired of this. I'm fed up! It's like a bleeding curse or something. I've been losing weight, and wonder if I lose enough will it end all this? Even if it means being underweight? I'm so sick of bleeding. I'm getting very desperate. I've read through this thread and saw some people talking about Vitex and Inositol Powder. I'll give that a try before I take more drastic measures. I have no insurance, so I'll have to pray and figure the rest out. I hope we all find not only answers, but successful solutions.
