A SOLUTION: I posted about two weeks ago, have been taking BERBERINE (available over the counter, it’s just herbal) and an iron supplement once a day. After seven days my bleeding stopped almost completely. I stopped taking the iron supplement when I stopped bleeding. For the past week I have felt so free! I missed the Berberine for ONE day and had breakthrough bleeding and when I took my next dose, the bleeding stopped. Seems almost too good to be true... I hope this keeps up!!
We're in the same shoes. I have this abnormal bleeding for over 5 years. I am so frustrated and very tired that i have to use sanitary pad everyday.
I was going through the same issue that you all are having. I am almost 25, no kids and barely sexually active before my bleeding began. I bled for 6mnths straight, heavy flow. Let me tell you it wasn't pretty. It was painful and it was very unpleasant. I was in so much pain that I finally went to the hospital when I had been bleeding for 3mnths straight. They took blood to make sure I wasn't anemic but that's it. They didn't even refer me to any gynos or anything. So I waited about 5 more months. After I hit the 6mnth mark for my first "period" it stopped for about 2-3wks then started right back up, just as painful and just ask heavy. I got scared and finally decided it was time to try the hospital again, this time I didn't have my hopes up. I just told myself worst case scenario they do the same as the first time I was there.
I guess since this was alarming to the trioge nurse because she ended up taking me back almost immediately. The doctor order me a few blood tests, urine tests and an internal and external pelvic exam. Almost 5hrs later he came in and finally gave me answers. He said that I have Endometrial Hyperplasia. Endometrial Hyperplasia is when the lining of the uterus thickens. Its a process that happens when your menstrual cycle occurs. If your uterine lining doesn't shed is when it can cause abnormal bleeding and can be the reason for an abnormal menstrual cycle.
Endometrial Hyperplasia is easily treatable with a "minipill". The "minipill" is a birth control pill without the estrogen (female hormone). Once its treated the first time it shouldn't occur again. Unfortunately there are two other possible types of Endometrial Hyperplasia. One is atypical, if left untreated atypical has an 8% chance of becoming cancerous. The other is complex atypical, if left untreated complex atypical has a 29% chance of becoming cancerous. So please ladies, ask your gynos about getting an internal and external pelvic exam if you're having these issues. If your doctor says that you do have what I have then please, load up on questions. Ask everything and anything you want and makes sure your doctor can explain them so you can fully and clearly understand them. I'm not a doctor and I honestly have yet to go see a proper gyno. My situation is difficult so its not easy for me, but please go get yourselves checked and take care of yourselves ladies.
I truly hope that you all are healthy and happy.

I also have wondered if maybe it was a side effect to being on BC at some point.
Here it is 2018 and still no answers... still women are having prolonged bleeding and absolutely no resolve!! I’ve been bleeding for 4-5 years. Most times it’s light and barely there while other times it’s heavy. The times when it is heavy is when I believe my actual cycle is happening. The lighter parts I call my in between spotting. However it hasn’t always been this way. In the beginning it was one big heavy constant blur. I couldn’t tell a difference between when it began and when it ended. All I know now is that in 11 years there is still no answer or solution to this madness!!
Hello Friends, I wanted to say that I was in the same boat... bleeding 2 years straight maybe with 1 or 2 days break at most... I've never been on birth control, have only ever had sex with women, no STDs or STIs. I did a complete overhaul on my health (I used the Candida diet thinking that maybe candida was linked to the issues with my cycle). What I found useful for myself after having 4 different doctors tell me to go on the pill or wait it out was that I have been living my life until recently with a lot of food allergies and it was causing my system to go crazy. I cut all that food out and started taking berberine like another user recommended. I have been period free for a week now and I could not be more ecstatic. I haven't had a break this long in as long as I can remember. I'm thinking that it will stick....
another bonus is I feel amazing and clear headed and have so much energy from cutting sugar, dairy, and gluten + other food allergies I have had... but really I think it was the Berberine that did it. Good luck, friends.

Hi I would say I'm happy to see others with this issue but I'm not this is horrible! I'm 33 years young I have 2 children one 3 an one 6 months I have been bleeding since my first non stop everyday sometimes very Red tired light an some days that yuck brown I've been on 6 diff birth controls with no change talk to my doctor an they say nothing is wrong I've been tested for everything with all coming back normal . I hate this I don't think it's normal for a woman to bleed like this . Im at a loss suffering daily . I want answers but mostly I want my body back an for this to stop .
Argh so here I am and I've been bleeding for 9 months, the doctors when they hear that are all concerned however then it stops. At first it wasn't heavy at all but now it's getting heavier and heavier I passed clots larger than the palms of my hand! Went to emerge and am now back home and still bleeding because they didn't find anything wrong. Even tho they agree it's not normal. Its so frustrating I'm about to get a hysterectomy I'm so over this I bought some berberine and am going to be taking it will keep you updated-AB
Hi,
What dosage for BERBERINE do you take? Thanks! :)

I'm 27. I had a normal period my entire life, and took Yasmin BC for a few years. Every time I got off Yasmin, my period went back to normal after a month or so. A year and a half ago, I got off Yasmin and my period came back irregularly--once every 2 weeks. A few months later I got on Yasmin again, but immediately went off because I experienced the most debilitating depression. Then my period came back with a vengeance. It's been 1.5 years now and my period has not stopped. I don't know what to do. Is this permanent?
I think this is a side effect from the birth control pills. My doctors say this is normal and to wait it out. I just wished there was a way to stop this!

Hi everyone,
I am a 35 year old and up until the last year, I always had regular periods with absolutely no issues. Last year, my period was extremely light for one month and then the next month, I basically suffered from extremely heavy and continuous bleeding. At times, it would lessen or disappear for a few days, only to return again. I put up with this for several months to see if it would improve over time, but nothing changed. I eventually went to see my doctor and he recommended that I undergo an internal ultrasound. I did this and the results showed absolutely no abnormalities.
I am unable to take any form of hormonal contraception ( as it causes me to develop blood clots), so I felt like I had very few options. I have been lurking and following these posts for a while and I decided to see if taking vitamins would help. I began taking a woman's health multivitamin once a day and over the last month or two, my period finally stopped and then began the next month as normal. At this stage, my period has lasted for its normal duration and appears to be tapering off. I just thought I would post this feedback in case it assists anyone else. It's an awful thing to suffer from and I wish you all the best xx. Mish

Hey to all the woman on this page, I suffered the same thing for a whole year then it went again for two years and I just got it back again the last 2 months. I went to a doctor and they sent me to get an internal check done (with the camera up me) as scans didn’t show much. Found out I have Poly Cystic Ovary syndrome. Please get checked for this and look up symptoms I don’t have them all but I have a few specially with weight, and periods. You may have the same thing and there is medication to make it stop
Hey its AB my liver is showing signs of damage 3 months ago so I stopped the berberine, my doctor suggested the iud as ultrasounds showed up normal. For the past two weeks I have been eating extremely healthy and guess who's bleeding has stopped? MINE!!! I refused the iud because I was so scared of it and hate doing things without knowing the why. I do have pcos and was over 200 lbs for about a year I'm finally under 200! So please try healthy eating as honestly I was shocked If I eat badly I do bleed tho especially with lots of breads so I avoid those at all costs! Good luck ladies
