I've dealt with sharp pain in my right side, near my bottom rib, for about 10 years. I had numerous tests including an endoscopic ultrasound, 2 HITA scans and my gallbladder removed, and a 2 endoscopic examinations. The pain returned after my gallbladder was removed, so this resulted in the second endoscope exam. The doctor found 2 stomach ulcers, one that had previously healed. But it took me several weeks to get into to see my GI doc for the most recent endoscope exam and during that time I saw my naturopath. She recommended I see the GI doc for sure, but also suggested that in the mean time while I was waiting for the GI exam that I try GI Repair Nutrients. It's a non-pharmaceutical, over the counter remedy made by Vital Nutrients, 45 Kenneth Dooley Drive, Middletown, CT 06457. I bought them directly from my naturopath doctor. I started taking them, 6 capsules per day, 3 in the morning and 3 in the evening, and within 2 days my right side abdominal pain ended. It was unreal. After using pharmaceutical meds for years including numerous kinds of acid reducers, I was pain free. I couldn't believe it. I had taken RX meds for years and don't get me wrong, they reduced acid and relieved my symptoms. But I was experiencing the side effects of muscle and joint pain, which are known side effects experienced by some people taking Proton Pump Inhibitors, such as many of the prescription and over-the-counter acid reducers. But when I would quit taking an acid reducer to reduce the side effects, my abdominal pain came raging back. I've been taking the GI Repair Nutrients for months with great results and no noticable side effects. I am so grateful to my naturopath for recommending them.
On Sunday I started having severe pain in my right upper abdomen that radiates to my lower back. It feels like i am being stabbed. I do not have a gall bladder. I have had problems with pancreatitis in the past and am wondering if it is happening again. I don't even have an appetite and feel lethargic.
I have had these same symptoms for over 10 years as well. It has been bad for the past month, the holidays and all the over eating and unhealthy choices. When i got it checked out 5 years ago, They said i was fine narrow funnel like tube to my left kidney though but said it shouldn't cause pain. The doc didnt check out my GI area "cause that would cause me more pain." Whatever. I am very aware of my bodies functions, sometimes I feel the pain , it is strong and then a valve opens and *bubble clunk* it disapears. With in the next 30 minutes i am running to the washroom though. I think it may be a valve leak with acid leaking through affecting the top on my intestines. Acid reflux pills like zantac help sometimes but i usually just deal with the pain.
Sometimes we need to explore alternatives beyond what is the norm just to be our own doctor and be proactive in our health for the sake of our love ones or ourselves. You just need to be open to possibilities and take risks from new things that sometimes makes you more apprehensive based on your background or upbringing and see things that are not really out in them market but can really help. Chinese herbs is one great alternative that I can attest for. If you are ever near or accessible to a Chinatown, you will find a Chinese herbalist that charge only like $10 for consultation and buy prepared herbs that you have to boil and bear the taste for the sake of health. In Philadelphia, a bag of herbs is like $10 which you need to boil and finish within a day. You may get 10 bags which means you keep taking it for 10 days. I was involved in a car accident that busted my spleen and caused me splenic infarct to a certain percentage. I was in pain for days and my catscan showed the infarct. My doctor just gave me pain meds which I do not want to take because I do not want to be dependent on any pain med. My doctor eventually had to recommend a second cat scan to rule surgery and take off the infarct part to resolve my pain. As I promised myself to stop being a frequent flyer in surgery, I decided to go to Philadelphia, PA Chinatown and found an herbalist who assessed me by just feeling my brachial artery. And then he gave me bags of dried herb leaves and powders he concucted in front of me. Put them in small brown paper bags and told me to finish in 10 days after he asked me when my catscan will be. He also gave me a chinese pill for better blood circulation. I understood the logic because the spleen helps clean the blood. I was such in pain that he has to boil one for me that moment and I took it despite the taste of like bitter molasses with baby powder (ugh). I did not care, I can not stand the pain anymore. As we were driving back home, I felt the relief as if something was being lifted off my painful abdomen and I fell asleep. When I got home I slept some more. The next day I got up and boil and I did so the days after. On the second day, I was able to eat again. On my catscan day, I was smiling. The tech said he thinks I will be just fine. I said I think so too. When it was time to meet with my surgeon, he smiled as he put up the film on the light board and told me that he bet I feel better. I said I feel great but I inquired how my splenic infarct now is. He said its been greatly reduced and that no intervention is needed. Contrary to what he previously told me that the dead part cannot be perfused by blood again, He now said my spleen rehealed itself. He did not even asked me what I did for the past weeks. I was given clearance to go back to normal work capacity. Wherever state you are, try to find a Chinatown. Do not go to the expensive ones because chances are they would be not authentic. I found one who almost do not know how to speak English. His son had to help him interpret. In Chinese herbalism, there are natural ways to irrigate the body of toxins or formations that are all due to everyday stress and the instant food we tend to eat because of time constraints. Natural ways like herbs we take so we pee or eliminate crush or disintegrate formations or crystalizations in our system that tend to obstruct and cause internal wounds. When you had to go to surgery, cut cappillaries, veins can also diminish our immune system as circulation obstructions would result. and develop further issues in time. Too many preservatives in commercial foods can result in a lot of issues in our digestions that affect all our organs. Most of our health issues comes from our digestive disorders arising from wrong habits of food intake and stress. We need to find natural ways to strengthen our organs as we clean them out regularly through our proactive conscious effort to maintain our good health and lengthen our existence for the sake of those we love who depend on us. A monthly enema not with the chemically prepared stuffs you get from pharmacy but just some natural herbs you can boil and cool to clean your lower digestive system would overhaul your health. I meant owning your individual rubber bag with the tubing that you can fill with fresh strained cooled solution of previously boiled leaves of herbs. Find the 7 best herbs on the internet and get 7 pieces of each to boil even on a clay pot is best. I think its called 7-7 leaves which include I think guava leaves, mango leaves, etc. There is also an Indian herb fruit the Triphala which you can also try to keep a great digestive system or their Amla. For those with Diabetes, try Dr. Levytam of Niagara Falls, Canada. Don't keep your mind inside a box. Explore and find good health even beyond state borders.
Based on information given, it seems diet have a lot to do with the symtoms. There could be too much soda and process foods which is causing sodium and gas build up in your system. Try drinking daily recommended amounts of water and stay away from foods earlier mentioned. Also, go to a different doctor that is not close to the family. This helpsin getting a good second opinion. More fiber should also help.
I have been having similar symptoms. Mine starts in the upper stomach area and then radiates into the upper chest area. I never had any medical issues in my past and started about a year ago off and on. My last 'episode' was about 4 days ago. Started about 9pm and lasted till about 3am. In-between that time I actually vomited several times; which is the first time that I vomited. The pain is so in-tense at times that I am shaking and sweating uncontrollably, and usually have to be in a hunched-over position to make it a little more tolerable. I have never had a heart attack but it is the closest that I can compare it to. I have had tests to look for Helicobacter pylori (stomach infection), Pancreatitis, Esophageal dysphagia, and a recent ultra sound to look at my Gallbladder but nothing found. My Doctor is referring me to a specialist (Gastroenterologist) since nothing is coming up for me on any of the tests. I need to schedule an appointment early next week so hopefully they will find something that my normal Doctor is missing - VERY Frustrating.
I've had the same symptoms and had every test possible... I still can feel the pain
I am sure you probably don't even remember your post it was so long ago, but I am in trouble with the pain i am having and am at my wits end. When I get pain it is SEVERE. It seems to be at base of sternum and goes through to the back and up into chest. It is some of the worst pain I've ever had and I've had lots. It incapacitates me. I need help. I've had my gallbladder out about 3 months ago. Helped with nausea but this stomach pain I've had for several years on and off and no one can pin point it and give it a name. I feel like it is pancreas related. No specific reason. I am very anemic. I have fibromyalgia. I have a HH. I need help
I have the same thing, sharp squeezing upper left under breast bone-sometimes right. Its likely chronic pancreatitis due to my lab work though scans are normal (however they often are with early CP)
Hi there, I've been having the samae pains for 4+ years, and I thought it had to do witht he 7 tumors (all benign) they found on my liver, but within the last 6 months to a year the pain gradually spread throughout my body and I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia about a week ago. I have the same pain in my right ribcage everyday, it comes out of nowhere, and makes me keel over in excrutiating pain.. Goes back to a constant achy dull after about 5-10 minutes... Anyways, sorry for the spelling errors. Hope you get answers. Kristyn
