Out of nowhere, all my teeth started hurting, both top and bottom. The pain went away but came back that night. Then I started feeling the pain on the right side of my face, my right jaw was aching, my temple hurt, I even had a tiny bit of pain in my throat. The pain would get really bad but would only last for a few minutes. Then it would go away. Then it would come back an hour or two later.

The next day was the same way. The pain would come and go every couple of hours. If I ate something that was hard, the pain would get worse.

On the third day, my tooth pain seemed like it was more on the right side of my mouth. I went to the dentist. He examined me and he took a couple of x-rays. Nothing really stood out and he didn't want to do anything until we were sure whether in fact the pain was from a tooth. and if so, which tooth. the fact that we couldn't pinpoint where the pain was coming from was starting to make me think that maybe there was something else going on like TMJ, a sinus infection, or something else.

Anyway, it wasn't until the next evening that I was finally able to pinpoint that the pain was coming from a tooth on the upper right side. My right side was so sore that I couldn't chew food on the right side. I poked around a little bit and was finally able to pinpoint which tooth it was. I went to the dentist the next day. He opened the tooth up and sure enough it needs a root canal. This will be my first root canal. I am scheduled to have it next week. I asked the doctor whether it will be painful and he told me that it should not be painful. He told me that the worst part was what he did today and that didn't hurt at all. Today he drilled the tooth and opened it up. He cleaned it all out and put some medication inside and put a temporary filling in.

I am so relieved. I have no pain at all right now after having terrible pain on and off for 4 days. The thing that was so surprising to me was that on the first day I felt the pain in all my teeth. It wasn't until the 4th day, that I could pinpoint where the pain was coming from. In addition, I had all that facial pain and jaw pain every day. I feel fine now. I am so relieved and happy.

I hope all of you are able to get the proper diagnosis and proper treatment and then have a full and speedy recovery.

I’ve had some similar symptoms and had an endodontist diagnosis me with tooth cysts. 3-d scan was used to diagnose it. I haven’t been kind to my teeth so I understand. I still have ear pain ringing in my ears draining feeling despite having cysts removed and neck temple shoulder pain. I was also diagnosed with TMJ but I’m skeptical I don’t grind my teeth. My doc said drain out nasal with Neil med sinus .. endodontist suggested may have virus & fibromyalgia & infectious disease doc said fibromyalgia... most scans came back clear ... only had low vit d and iron. Been doing lots of yoga it’s the only peace i get and feel some relief from .. good luck i feel you and have also been dismissed frustration depressing don’t give up i found some relief in yoga.

My friend has a lot of pain in the lower left side of his mouth around the teeth and gum area. His pain radiates up to his neck, ears, chest, back, etc. Also, he says he's cold. What could this be?
